The media could not be loaded. We have a Tesla wall charger at home, however, we skipped the purchase of a mobile charger while getting our car. But during our few recent long trips, we felt the need for a mobile charger to make our travel smooth & hiccups-free. Instead of the slow mobile charger that Tesla sells, we decided to check some alternative options that support faster charging & ended up with this after checking the specifications. This product is having great build quality and loved it out of the box. Modern design and very fancy in looks. Works great too with my model Y. Highly recommended product for the price. My 2 cents below: Pros: - Works great with good charging speed. It has a capacity of 40 Amp & can provide up to 9.6 kW of power, which is just a little lower than the Tesla wall connector capability (11.5kW) that we have installed in our garage - Fit swell in the port. I am using a J1772 to Tesla convertor currently - Safety standards (UL and CSA safety) certified and so feels safe to use - The mobile app works fine and it was easy to connect to WiFi during the setup process. The app lets you schedule the charging as per your preferences - Weatherproof and hence can be wall mounted indoor or outdoor - 23-foot cable in this charger making it convenient to use even when the car is parked far from the charger outlet - Comes with a nice hard carrying bag making it portability friendly - Nice build quality overall - Reasonably priced for the features it offers at this price in the competitive market - Comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty & double compared to other chargers that usually have just a 1-year warranty Cons: - The mobile app is not very comprehensive & definitely there is a ton of scope for improvement there to make the experience fluidic & add further features ... show more

This adapter looks sturdy and durable. We managed to use this adapter to plug our Bolt EUV charger to our dryer outlet for level 2 charging, and it charged way faster then the regular outlet. Having said that, the price seems a bit more expensive than others listed on Amazon.

If you own an EV you know having a range of adapter and charger cables is a must. This works with my Tesla M3LR with the 14-50 plug. It doesn't heat up at the max charge rate allowed on a 30a circuit, you just need to be careful and make sure you don't try to charge at 50amps on a 30amp circuit or you'll be blowing circuit breakers. This is a good adapter if you have a water heater on a 30a circuit so you can use that to charge your EV or a dryer with this plug as well Cheap and well made, and cheaper than Tesla's factory adapters for their charge box! ... show more

Based on my initial test, this appears to be a solidly built NEMA 14-30P to 14-50R adapter by SetWire. It is overmolded on both ends of the adapter and worked fine on my limited test plugging it into a 14-30R dryer outlet and portable EVSE with 14-50P plug. It's a solid addition to add to my collection of high power adapters for my EV. If this adapter had UL listing or ETL listing details, I wouldn't hesitate to give it a 5 star rating. This thing is heavy. Really heavy. It’s a foot long and about as flexible as a stiff garden hose. Brutal. I totally believe that it is packed with 10 AWG wires that can carry all those amps. As for function, it plugged into the NEMA 10-30P socket on the wall and the NEMA 14-50P plug of the EV charger plugged into the other end. This adapter cord is well made and the plugs fit tightly. The cabling is heavy and, in fact, is difficult to bend (not complaining, I'll take heavy). If you are ever in a situation where a public charger is not available but a 4-prong (the newer standard) dryer outlet is, this can get you going much faster than trying to charge from a 120V connection. A little common sense has to apply here in that a dryer outlet (nema 14-30 in this case) is not as heavy duty as a native nema 14-50 outlet that the EV charger would normally connect to. You will need to scale back the charging rate so you don't overload the circuit. This is easily done on the charging screen in a Tesla but I don't know how other EVs would work. ... show more

Like many, I got this so that I can us my Level 2 car charger at different plugs if they don't match what's on my end. Yes, the NEMA 14-50 is able to do 50(40) amps but you'll be plugging into the 10-30 that is only for 40(32) amps, so be sure that you only use what can be supplied or less to prevent breakers blowing or worse. Or turn your car's charging rate down in settings. Exactly what I needed for having more options on a road trip. Well built and easy to use. ... show more
