Might be a bit heavy for younger toddlers. My son is obsessed with the SEREED baby balance bike, but is, unfortunately, getting a bit too big for it. I opted to stick with SEREED with his next balance bike, and though I like it, and it was a breeze to assemble, it is a bit too heavy for my almost two-year-old; however, I'm sure it'll be easier to use as he gets older. We were able to try out a Strider 12' balance bike a few weeks ago, which is significantly lighter than the SEREED (I believe there's about a 3 lb difference). I don't regret the purchase, but the weight is definitely something to take into consideration. This bike was a great addition! Our son originally had the balance bike by this company and he loved it. Unfortunately, he got too tall so we had to play around with other balance bikes and went through quite a couple. We’ve now gotten to the point where we are using this bike and he loves it! something about the seat being bigger, and the big tires being bigger seem to give him a little more confidence than the smaller ones. I'm actually editing this review bc i just returned from a friend's house whose 4 year old son has a very similar bike with plastic wheels. So I guess plastic wheels on balance bikes are a thing. She told me he has a second balance bike without the plastic wheels, yet he prefers the one with the plastic wheels bc it is lighter and he can go faster. I watched him in it and he did fine. He is a pretty coordinated kid, and his mom told me that the balance bikes really helped him learn to ride better. With that being said, I bumped my review up a star bc clearly my concern didn't at all apply with my friends son. He was flying around on his bike and loving it. And the company was wonderful. They got back with me right away and offered a full refund. That's the mark of a good company. So way to go on your prompt response. I plan on sticking with this though, and seeing how my niece does with it. My original review is below. It's a shame that they didn't use at least a non-slip coating on the plastic wheels, because the rest of this bike is made wonderfully. The metal is heavy and sturdy, the handgrips have a good rubber on them, the assembly looks easy and straight forward, and it's very cute, but I just don't like the idea of plastic wheels for safety reasons. I got this for my niece, but my sister-in-law said no right away when I took it out to assemble it, bc she was concerned the plastic wheels will allow the bike to slip, since plastic doesn't stick to concrete surfaces. So I did not finish the assembly, which did seem very easy. That being said, my niece has very little athletic skill, due to her mother being a bit too over protective. But in this case I actually had the same concerns. The price point of this compared to other balance bikes, can't be beat. And like I said, it's super cute and sturdy otherwise. And some kids may do just fine with this bike. My friend has three boys who could handle the plastic wheels no problem, bc they are a bit more rough and tumble (and coordinated) kids. But the purpose of this bike is to help kids become coordinated, so in this case, these little things matters even more than usual. I might try and find a way to make this bike work...maybe spray something on the wheels to texturize them? I'm sure I can find some sort of product. Or what I may do, is suggest my niece use this on the fancy playgrounds with the rubberized ground/floors, bc she did really like it the bike, especially the pretty pink color and the size. ... show more
