  • First time Sennheiser dun me wrong...
Color: Portable ENG Set
I had an old set of Azden lav mics from 1998 that finally gave up the ghost and I ended up here... My first complaint is with myself, I didn't see in the fine print that it is a single channel receiver, I thought I was paying for 2 transmitters and a 2 channel receiver. Not the case, you get two transmitters, one with the lav mic, the second with an XLR input. I guess the idea is you can switch to an XLR mic when you want to. My second complaint is with the price. I paid full price. 3 days later, it was $120 cheaper on sale... Buyer beware, wait until it's on sale. It's been on sale for 2 months now, they got me in some magic window of full price! Finally, there is the sound quality... This is for personal use and to be clear, I used to be a radio engineer. I do know how to setup a mic. The sound quality is horrendous in my configuration. I have the receiver mounted on a camera but feeding into an Olympus recorder. When I was using the Azden mics, I had the Olympus gain set at 14. On this, I have the gain set at 8... My guess is the input is so hot, it's clipping the mic input and as others have pointed out, you can't control it in the receiver. Put it this way, I was recording with this and a Blue Yeti for backup... I'll be using the Yeti sound. That never happened with my old, cheap Azden mics... For the right configuration, it's Sennheiser, I'm sure it's amazing. I have a Sennheiser 835e mic and it's my favorite. I bet it would sound good if I were dumping it into a mixing board but I didn't buy this to use with my mixing board, that's what the 835e is for. ... show more

  • Too hot for some cameras
Color: Portable Lav. Set
The inability to set the the receiver unit's output level creates a problem for some cameras. I have the Sony a6500 and A7III, which are fairly popular. I assume all modern Sony cameras suffer the same. At a normal outdoor presentation speaking voice, and the camera set to the lowest possible input setting(1), the audio is too hot. Some third-party mics are even hotter than the supplied ME2, which makes it even worse. Some would say, "Just get an attenuator cable". Why should I have to spend more just to fix an arrogant design flaw? If that was the solution, it should come with a set of attenuator cables with locking connectors, just like the stock receiver cable. ... show more

  • Volume Issues!
Color: Portable Lav. Set
This product would be amazing if it worked. The audio I could get sounded pretty good. The issue is that plugging directly in to any of our cameras, the audio clips, even when talking at a low volume. We typically use a zoom recorder so I ordered a 3.5mm to xlr cable to go straight it. Even with the input volume max'd out at 100, the audio was way too quiet. I need portability and can't be carrying around a sound system. I also need the ability to record at least two microphones, which is what the zoom does perfectly. If there was an attenuator or firmware update to allow a -10db volume reduction, this might work. Or, if there was a way to boost the signal without extra gear to the zoom, then this unit would be amazing. ... show more

  • Great sound mics, incredible value when on sale
Color: Portable Lav. Set
I have been using this wireless lav kit for a little over a month now, primarily for YouTube. I picked it up on sale for $200. At that price it is a no brainer. Once you set the levels properly in your camera, the audio quality you get from this system is excellent. The lav mic alone sells for $130, this really is a great bargain. Battery life is solid, and the connection has been flawless for me. You can also connect an external battery pack if you need more juice. ... show more

  • Great wireless solution for camera
Color: Portable Lav. Set
Fantastic product! We’ve gotten pretty good range even with a bunch of wireless interference. Mic picks up loud and clear under different conditions (speaking and singing) love that it pairs with otherXSW-D units.

  • Amazing sound, surpasses expectations
Color: Portable Lav. Set
Wow, this is professional sound quality at amateur prices. I got it on sale at 199 which is a killer deal for the quality you get. I believe the reason for the price is it’s low range. But for my amateur shoots it’s perfect as the studio is my kitchen. I bought a $60 wireless lav to try and save some money but the sound quality was really bad. This is so sorry the price. Highly recommended for amateurs wanting professional sound and one man shows. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Color: Portable Lav. Set
The wireless transmitters are really bad. The range is so small the sound goes in and out as you move. The actual quality of the mic is also not great. As professional videographer, I can't use it for paid work.

  • It clips, they have to update this thing with a -10db setting
Color: Portable Lav. Set
It clips! camera audio down to 1 mic still clips. They need a -10 dB I wish I could return this thing. Don’t buy it the clipping is a known problem
