The media could not be loaded. Technology can be scary, never knowing how difficult things will be to set up, but this was one of the easiest I have ever done. Literally took 2 minutes, and half that time was just installing the lightbulb into the socket!! Here are the steps... 1) Download app and register an account 2) Screw in lightbulb and turn on wall switch 3) Open app, type in password to WiFi network. App recognizes device and on/off function through app is working 4) Go into Alexa app and add new device. Give permission for Sengled app. 5) Give device a name and I'm off and running with voice command. This was truly easier than I thought it would be. Lightbulb with built in WiFi and no hub...how convenient is that!?! Bulb is plenty bright (60 watt equivalent). No flicker, no hum. And it's dimmable (even with Alexa commands!).     • Won't Stay Connected to Wifi

Don't buy these...buy the Sylvania LED instead. These bulbs won't stay connected to wifi, and the lag with Alexa controlling them is touch and go. I'm constantly having to go back and rejoin the bulbs to my wifi and to Alexa control. Not worth the hassle. The installation is very simple and easily connects to Alexa and the functions such as changing the intensity or turning off and on works perfectly. Maybe the only thing I think is that it is too warm, but in general it is very good

    • Bad wifi firmware in bulb

Rec'd this bulb in a bundle with an Echo Dot. It WILL NOT connect to my TP-Link Archer-alexa enabled router. It will connect to my Netgear router. It is NOT the router fault - the problem is in the Sengled bulb wifi/firmware, and Sengled support is unable to understand. If you look at the lower rating reviews, you'll see others with same problem. So, bottom line here is - this bulb MIGHT work for you depending on what router you own. And, it might not work. And it may work today but not in the future if you upgrade/change your router - because there is a flaw in the code in the bulb. How do I know this? 1) I have had other IoT smart device that had connection issue and it was resolved when the vendor released new firmware for their smart device. 2) My router status shows when a wifi device is connecting/connected with the mac id - I can see the Sengled bulb attempting to connect to the router - that attempt lasts for a few seconds, and drops, the bulb repeats the process a few times, and then gives up (bulb blinks once). My router meets all the published requirements - 2.4ghz, and I have other smart things connected. I spent lot of time trying to make it work, even going as far as turning off everything else so the bulb would be the only thing connected - still same sorry sequence of attempt/fail/attempt/fail/attempt/fail. Totally unsatisfactory response from Sengled. I will avoid purchase of anything made by this company! ... show more

This is the 3rd smart bulb I bought. The other ones are from different brands but I had to return all because they wouldn't pair. I was a little scared when purchasing this one because I thought all Sengled devices required a hub. Well I was wrong. When I screwed it into where its supposed to go, turned on the bulbs and it connected to my phone in less than 3 mins. I logged into my Google home app and logged into my Sengled account on there. It works great and I just thank God because I almost gave up on smart bulbs lol. Brightness... it gets VERY bright. I usually use it at 50%brightness. All I have to say is 'hey Google, reduce bedroom light brightness to 50%' and its done. The Sengled app... it works great. There's this function that you can set up and the bulb turns on and increases brightness gradually in the morning. I enjoy this. Definitely recommended. ... show more

Have several connected devices, this is the only one that will not stay connected. Tried it on an Amazon deal, the first bulb wouldn’t connect. This one won’t stay connected or reconnect. Using Phillips Hue with no issues. Also use the $5 Merkury bulbs from Walmart with intermittent issues that can be fixed by turning lights off/on that I would expect act that price point with no hub. The Sengled bulb may as well be an overpriced LED. I have also tried using an extender dedicated to my smart home devices - it’s still the only device that will not stay connected. ... show more

Wouldn't connect with Alexa. First of all this light bulb isn't a Sengled bulb but a Zibee. I installed the Sengled app (make sure you install the "Sengled Home" app) but was redirected to Zigbee which didn't work either. I tired asking Alexa on the app and device to discover a new device but it was never able to find the lightbulb even though the light bulb was dimming and brightening. I've used Phillips smart lightbulbs and the install was easy and effortless. This product would probably be easy if you had a Zigbee hub that isn't an Echo Dot. I spent 5 hours on this process and was never able to get this device to pair to Alexa. ... show more

I bought these as a superior product to all the Tuya clones as I've been told Sengled is one of the best brands you can get. The Tuya bulbs are cheap and may not last, but they do work. These bulbs, not so much. First, when set to any "white" color that isn't warm white, the bulb will pulse or flicker - the brightness drops by a few percentage. It's enough to drive you crazy. Warm white is pretty steady, as are any of the color variants. Secondly, the bulb turns itself on at random, almost on a nightly basis. Again, none of my other bulbs do that. There are no routines or anything else configured to do that. There's also no setting I can see that says "do no turn back on if losing wifi connection" if that is what's happening (again the app is very limited, no logging, so can't tell).
