  • This little baby does everything the ad said she'd do...
Color: White
I liked the speed at which it was delivered to us (we have a project we have to get into the mail yesterday!) It only took 2 days. I liked that it was easy to figure out - AND THE VIDEO THAT WAS IN THE AMAZON ADVERTISEMENT (LAST PICTURE TO THE LEFT OF ITEM DESCRIPTION) WAS EVERYTHING TO ME as I wanted to transfer files from a cassette tape to a USB drive. Even so, I had to study that tape again after I tried to make my first transfer. So here's what I noticed that other customers commented to: A. I accidentally put the a/c cord into the headphone jack. ..which made it seem like the cord didn't work. So I shifted the cord to the hole below and that was the right one. It didn't fit tightly, though. B. To record from the cassette tape to a USB (it shows almost all of the following on their video): 1. First, place your USB stick into the machine on the right side. Slide the right toggle switch, second to the end, to where it says "tape/off". I tried to tape with the switch on "USB/SD" but I got nada. (i found out that button is for you to listen to what's on your USB stick.) 2. Next, push the play button on top, where you want to begin, then 3. Push the button on the left side of the front of the machine that says "REC" and hold it until the red light comes on, not green. You should then be able to hear the tape as it's recording. 4. If you want to make an announcement midway, push the pause/play button on the left front and stop the tape with the stop button on top. Then, push REC on the front left and say what you want to say into the mic. When you're finished, push pause/play on the front left again and "play" on the top to continue your conversion. I'm sure they put all of this in the instructions, but I like to just get started. I hope that helps clarify some points. I think it plays as well as any cassette I ever had. Oh, and when you shut it to begin taping, make sure you press on the top left corner where the sticker says "close here" Otherwise you're going to have problems with the "eject" button keeping the machine open. The "next" button is for toggling between entries. Happy reminiscing! ... show more

  • Works exactly as advertised
Color: White
Once I figured out the switchology to transfer audio from cassette to USB, it was a snap to do the cassettes I needed to save. Very quick and efficient and avoided me having to cobble together a massive setup to record them. I wish I would have known about this sooner. The only feature I would add would be the ability to record radio audio directly from the receiver to USB You can record to cassette and then transfer to USB, but it would be more efficient to have a direct link. Thank you ... show more

Easy to use and does a great job. Recorded the voice of a now deceased friend from a few old tapes I found, onto a flash drive and saved them and will give the flash drive to his family

  • Great idea but weak cassette motor
Color: White
I've had this unit for about 4 weeks now. It does a good job of transferring cassette audio to a micro SD card but there are some drawbacks. The biggest issue I have with the unit is the weak motor. It has trouble turning the larger C-90 cassettes. Just some background, I am an electronics engineer and I've been working with cassettes for many years. One of the first things I do when I put a cassette in the unit is to "repack" it. That is, I put it in, hit fast forward, and let it go all the way to the end. Then, I hit rewind and let it come back to the beginning. This really helps with older cassettes that may have been laying around for several years. But the unit really struggles with some C-90 cassettes. The Maxells seem to work better than TDK's. It struggles when I'm using batteries or the included AC Adapter. If it weren't for this issue, this would be a pretty good unit. Other issues: When hitting Fast Forward or Rewind, the button doesn't pop-up when it reaches the end. It will sit there and continue to try and spin the tape. This is minor, but it's worth a mention. Audio isn't stereo. I knew this going in, but it's not real obvious from the description. I may try and source a better motor and just replace it, but there's not much space to work with. ... show more

  • THIS is a smart Jazzy Item
Color: White
ITS GOT GREAT FEATURES with little instruction. I also don't like pushing 2 buttons at the same time to make something work....and the words...press hard the first couple of times....they could have made this simple to use....but bare bones instructions on a road map micro flyer aren't much help....how do I say this...common sense design would have been much better than push play and something else to get it to go.....It sounds real nice...batteries load well....just the right size...but if you have to carry the little instruction flyer with you because how to use the functions are in Morse code....then I don't know.... I'm old school if you want to record...you press record....if you want to play then press play....no have to press both play and record. NOW I HAD A QUESTION ....CAN YOU RECORD DIRECTLY TO USB ... no where in the book is this addressed....why would you have to record onto cassette and then convert it to mp3....thats a waste... I just think the instructions would have addressed...these other ways to record... if you could or couldnt...BUT ALL IN ALL it's a great product even if you have to record on cassette first then convert..... has a friendly price mark....radio is great....can't go wrong ... show more
