I bought these for my niece for her 4th birthday! They are easy to use! Once we showed her how to work them she had it down and would take one and talk to us all over the house! She also went outside and they still worked just as good! We haven’t tried them from a longer distance but they are perfect for her 4 year old needs! They do not come with batteries so if you buy them make sure you have a bunch of triple A batteries! ... show more

They work well for their intended use. I purchased them as a gift for my granddaughter and I. She is 6. We used them on Halloween when we got separated from her mother, and even though we were many blocks apart, they still worked for us and we met back up. Make sure to keep the walkie on the same channel. It can be a bit confusing for some kids at first, but they’ll get the hang of it once they learn the walkies need to be on the same channel. One of them seems to have a problem with the batteries. I put new batteries in and after a few mins the walkie will turn off, but once I open the battery compartment, and snap the batteries out and back in, it works again. This happens often with only one of the walkies. Besides that, they’re a terrific little fun purchase, which can keep a child(ren) busy for hours of play fun! Besides Halloween, we just use them around the house for play and speaking with one another. We will be using them when we go camping again next year. I bought the pink set. 🙂 ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my 4 year old for Christmas and let him open it early. It works great and the distance on it is amazing!!! I gave 3 stars because things got weird. During set up he hit the scan button and something come over it which sounded almost like a police radio or trucker radio, strange but switched back to our original channel. We were in the middle of making cookies when it kept making noise on its own. I thought nothing of it. But than, we started hearing other people! As a kids toy idk how safe that is and it was really scary for the both of us. Ringing like a house phone and talking of another mother and child. I got scared so turned them both off. When I turned it back on I could still hear them so I switched to channel two and walked out of the room. After about 5-7 minutes I hear the house phone ringing the walkies make (I don’t own a house phone) from the other room but this time no voice(s) on the other end. The instruction manual doesn’t say that this can/will happen, and complicated to understand on what each button does, etc.. This toy is fun and creative but buy with caution. I thought this would just be a kids thing with privacy. It’s like living in a horror movie where unexplained things happen. ... show more

I bought these for a two year old and he loves them. They are a little on the small size even for his little hands so he won’t be able to use them too long but for the money spent, I think he’ll get plenty of enjoyment out of them. The range is actually quite good too, and the clarity of the sound.
