96% of the bike comes pre-assembled, so the only parts I had to put on was the front tire, pedals, handle bar, seat and the rack.... eazy-peazy... I didn't want to spend a "national debt" on my first electric bike and had been shopping for one for several months. Some of them sell for well into the thoudands of dollars. So I figured tere were a lot less expensive bikes on the market but there were a lot of more expensive ones too. Either way, they all had good and bad reviews. Performance of this bike has been great, exceeded my expectations. It took a little bit of time to get used to the control head (because I had never used one before) but within a few days, I had it down with no issues. I would say, in relation to the control head, I would like to see an indicator light to show if your headlight/tail light are on (but that is a personal preference). I live in a cold winter climate, so it was important for me to have a removable power cell, that way I can bring it inside during the winter, while the rest of the bike is stored in the unheated garage. I have taken this bike out for a 35 mile ride, on a full charge. When I completed the ride, I was pleased to see the charge left was about 88% full. So far, so good. ... show more

I have had this e-bike for over a week and ride it daily for exercise. Works perfectly! The assembly was easy and the instructions straight forward. The tools supplied with the e-bike were perfect for the assembly and minor adjustments (such as truing-up the front disc brake). Easier than the Rad Rover 6 Plus ($2,000.00) I have (more on that in a minute). Don't let the price fool you, this is a strong and good e-bike (I am 6-2, 220lbs and 77). I ride a 3 mile circuit (3 times) most mornings with 1 mile at PAS-2 and gear 4. after the long upgrade I down-shift the PAS to zero. I recharge after every other ride (battery indicator shows about 1/2 full). TIP: when charging the battery the button/light will change from red to green, however, wait until the charger indicator light also changes to green (maybe an additional hour) before unplugging, to get a full charge. Now, why did I need a second e-bike? The $2,000 Rad Rover died after 850 miles (about 2 yrs) of similar use (I am a fair-weather rider). First the controller (hidden beneath the battery, inside the frame) needed replacing (280.00 parts/labor). Then the battery stopped taking a charge and all they (Rad Power Bikes) would say is: 600.00 for a new battery. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Thus, before shelling out the 600.00, I made a smarter (400.00) investment in this new e-bike, new battery included. I have shared my experience with others, and they also complained about needing service on their relatively new Rad Power Bike(s), and Rad's poor customer service. TIP: Before buying any e-bike, check around to find a bike shop that services e-bikes. Most bike shops only work on the normal bike stuff, not the electronics. (Sorry about my life story.) Overall I love my new e-bike for what I use it for, and I expect the quality of this bike to hold-up. ... show more

Charging the Battery - do not unplug the charger from the battery when the battery turns green on bike, you will notice the charger its self still glowing red and hot, it means the battery is still charging. - ive done tests, when i unplug while charger still red and battery green, i get less miles on ebike, but when i let battery turn green and charger turn green and no longer hot charger, i get more miles. October 17th 2024 all good, battery still works, oh wait, the chain randonly comes off at random times while i ride and about to ride. September 11 2024 ive noticed no matter how fast i pedal i cant go past 20MPH, the Pedal assit is locked to 20MPH and will throttle my speeds and prevent me from pedal any faster, non ebikes i can reach speeds of 45MPH, i had to go into secret menu change MPH from 20 to 35 now their is no limit on my pedaling. - did not try this with power on bike off and using as normal bike, but still. keep in mind if driving it in Califorina its considered a Class 2 bike 20MPH keep that in mind if stopped by cops. Pros: 1. still works 2. oof new slime tire 1x of them sealed the air core closed so i cant air up the bike, soon as it gets flat enough, ill replace the tube. 3. went back to another town got all day battery. 4. battery last long when you pedal assit, it dies faster when you dont, last nite i charged it, used it 2 blocks after the charge, today i took it out and about using throttle more then pedal assit and battery icon started to flash, so i get half a day now using it full throttle, so if i wanna get full day i must do more pedal assit then full throttle. also when you come to a full stop, dont start out at gear 4/5 use a lower setting and more pedal and gear 1 then as you pickup speed switch gears, it should use less battery, when you start off at 4/5 you are dead stop trying to pickup power making the motor use more battery killing it. starting to think i got the wront tire or tube then matching with the rim, might have to visit a bike store and have them see if i have the correct tire and tubes for that rim. as the tire seems a little more out not wide more like length, making the tire sponge when i turn wide Update Sep 4th 2024 Pros: 1. went to another town to do food delivery, 11am to 5pm travel all over town, by 6pm got home on bus back to another town, still had 2 bars left, if i had left the solid tire on, no way that woul've been possible. so far happy with the bike. my KEVLAR tires for front and back come today, ill install them update you in few days September 2nd review pro: still working cons: battery is not lasting as long as it did the 1st day i got it, not even 3 miles full charge gone from full bars to 2 bars. not sure if it was a result of the soild tire did something or just bad battery. Update August 31 2024 do not put a solid tire on the ebike, do not waste your time, i went from 20MPH to 14MPH, trying to take off, takes about 1 block to go from 12MPH to 14MPH and cant go faster unless you pedal faster. after 24 hours, i ripped the solid tire off and returning it, i put the old tire back on with thicker slime tire, and going to buy kevlar tires and liners for the inside, nothing more i can do. DO NOT BUY SOLID TIRES it drained the battery faster, normal tires, i get well over 12 Miles on 1 charge and longer, with the solid tire i went from all bars full charge to dead battery in less then 4 miles and made the motor work harder to push that heavy tire. August 29 2024 1st Review 1st Day owning it Pros: 1. the pre-charge it came with got over 8 miles still 3 bars left. 2. was able to setup a 4 digit pass code 3. super light weight riding 4. the LED light is so freaking bright i love it. 5. bought a rack for the back and u-lock and motion remote alarm. Issues: 1. after 7 Miles got a flat tire, goat head got me - had to replace tube with a slime tube and just ordered a Soild Tire for the back tire and will in front when i get more more money. 2. i almost destoryed and cracked the LCD screen for battery and mph - when i was chaning the tube by removing the tire, i flip the bike upside down on the street outside in the sun and when i looked down, the LCD display was pushing on street, i quickly flip bike back over and losen the 2 bolts and moved out down, i can't believe that almost happened. More Reviews to come in few weeks. do not pull the bike out of the box by lifting it out from top, I strained my back, lay the box on its side and slide the bike out, from the side. their is a LOTTTTT of ZIp Ties, use extream caution when cutting with anything sharp as you might damage wires, tires, bike frame paint, etc. ... show more

Today was the first day I’ve ridden it and the tire popped pretty much immediately. I feel like if I’m spending $400 on a bike I shouldn’t have to worry about being able to use it. I am extremely disappointed.

Putting it together was very straightforward, I really like that this bike looks and feels like a normal bike. Also I am very happy that this bike uses normal bike tires. Battery life could be better but I bought this bike with the intent of pedaling, so over all ten out of ten, in my opinion.

The value with the money, performance is incredibly smooth, light in the back turns on when you brake, comfortable steering handles, made of leather pretty sure. Battery life lasts so long it’s insane, and the power it provides makes it all a good buy. 10/10
