I appreciate the thought that went into the packing, every part is clearly labeled with a number and each fastener bag clearly labeled with a letter. A extra fastener was included in each fastener bag, just in case you lost one during assembly. Each part was wrapped in it's own plastic bag to keep it from being scratch during shipment and unpacking. There was a faint smell of fresh paint as I was pulling the parts out of their respective bags, but it was gone by the time I finished putting the desk together. The outer box was obviously abused in shipment but there was no damage or even a scratch on any of the parts. It included the normal Allen wrenches that come with all put together yourself furniture, but they went a step further and included a screwdriver and hex wrench as well, I didn't need to provide any tools to assemble this desk. The instructions are all pictures, save the one very important written instruction at the beginning to not tighten down all the screws until the top surface was attached. Ensuring the correct orientation of the support bar holes according to the instructions led to perfect alignment of all screw holes. Over all a well thought out design. I would not recommend this desk for young children's room, but for older teens and beyond this is a great computer desk with lots of desktop space and should last for quite some time. ... show more

My son is a gamer and has been wanting a “proper” set up for several years. We tried out a few set ups that didn’t work out before landing on this one. Excuse the cord mess, this was right after assembly and before cord management ensued, but he is properly stoked about this desk. As a mom I appreciated: it’s sturdy, easy to assemble, easy to clean/low care maintenance, affordable, and the drawers slide in and out well. As a teen gamer, my son appreciated: it looks cool, the lights inside of the hutch (*please note the lights in the photo underneath the desk did NOT come with it, we added those ourselves), the hutch provides a place for his special collectibles, the drawers provide a place to stuff all his clutter when I tell him to clean his room lol. My only note is one of user error: we did install the hutch doors backwards and now that the tension pegs are in the slots, there is no getting them out to switch around. It’s not a big issue, and my son actually preferred it this way, but the doors should install with the flat side OUT. Learn that lesson by my failure! ... show more

I love my new desk! Spent months looking for one that had everything I wanted. I do everything at my desk and spend a lot of my free time there crafting. It was easy to put together, height is perfect (I was afraid it was going to be short), and it’s pretty sturdy.

    • I should have taken better measurements

I enjoyed the packing of the parts. Like another review said, each part is in a ziploc type bag or regular heal sealed plastic bag with a letter to separate them out and make building a cinch. I was able to build it by myself. I used a power drill to put it all together because the included tools make my hands hurt after a while, which is normal for me with this sort of furniture where tools are included. I got a few cuts from pieces with cut in grooves for a panel, so be aware those parts are sharper than they look! The window panes have film on them and I needed to remove them to get the film off in one piece. In my current setup, there are additional unused holes which are visible easily; if that bugs you get a sticker or some sort of plug for them. The desktop depth is not as big as I thought it was, and I should have taken better measurements before buying. It will work in my current space though and I’m not willing to take it apart to return for a larger desk, lol! I have it set up in option A/1, L shaped with the cabinet and peg wall on the right. The desktop portion under the cabinet is a little deeper than the other portion where the drawers live. The power strip built into the desk is a great touch, albeit if you like to shove things in corners, it does take up space there. The drawers are fabric with a thin piece of plastic or ply board for the back and front of the drawer. It does make for good light storage though, like for a Kindle or pens. A corner of the desktop near the power strip had a slight hairline crack in the surface. I don’t see this area getting much use so it shouldn’t be a problem. The LED strip is just okay. The app is mediocre but allows you to get the 7 color fade option; however there is no white or yellows/oranges. The white setting is just the lightest blue it can achieve, and yellows just don’t exist. It’s trying to go through red to green to achieve yellow and it doesn’t look good. The red LED struggles to put out light it seems, so when it’s fading it seems to go dark. Greens, blues, purples, cyans are nice and bright though! Even fading. All told, it’s a okay desk for the price. I was able to attach my dual monitor stand which clamps to the rear edge of a desk. This desk is very lightweight, easy to move! I’m using the cabinets as a humid area for plants and storing trinkets like tokidoki figures and other blind box grabs. ... show more
