I used to have a wireless security camera. its battery is dead and camera not work any more. I started shop around on Amazon and found MYPIN wireless security camera. it is actually much cheaper than my last camera, but it is surprised me that the video quality is way better than my last camera. the APP is very easy to use. It only takes me about 5 min to set up. once the motion detects, camera will automatically capture the motion and push to the app. It has purchased service that you can store the captured video onto Cloud, but I did not choose because store in SD card have meet my needs. So far the battery works fine, i think it may need to recharge the battery every two week? i am not very sure on it since i have not run a full cycle yet. This camera has good picture quality but honestly has a lot of falls. First thing to note about this is that that it is white so unfortunately it does yellow and such out in the sun. If you happen to be putting this out in direct sunlight, you will notice to start to yellow overtime. There is no way to really avoid this. This has one of the better picture qualities than many other cameras like this. I have this in the front yard area and it takes FOREVER to connect to the camera. Going into the application, it very slow in connecting. It does not offer free cloud recording so you will need to put in a micro SD card if you want to save the video. When I turn the application on, it can take up to 30 seconds to connect to the camera. I tried putting it right next to the router and it still took 30 seconds at least to connect to the device. I am not sure why this is. I also tried another router and same thing. It takes too long to connect. It does record but takes time to access the video. The picture quality is very good if it remain stable so make sure it is in a spot that is not too windy where it shakes. If it is too windy you hear all the feedback on the microphone. Also if dust gets on the screen you just see these blotches on your camera. For the most part, the lens stays pretty clean. It does have night vision and motion sensor in order to save space on the video recording. It will only record when it detects motion but the motion sensor is not very sensitive. Even at the highest setting, it does not detect all the time. It does consume a good amount of power so I need to recharge it every two weeks even with minimal recording. I would recommend getting the solar panel version as then you will not need to remove the camera to recharge and put it back. There is one down side of this is that the USB port is on the bottom of the camera at an awkward angle so depending on how you hold mount the device you cannot plug in the usb cable. It is weather proof so long as you keep the bottom cover closed. The water may get into the components. It is only water proof if you have the cover. Another way I get around this is that I would just put the camera in a place that is easy to reach via a ladder so you can take it down to charge. You are not able to move the camera with your phone. There is no kind of alert when the camera gets moved. Also if the camera getting moved, it will not cause a loud noise or anything if taken. The device is powered by a battery and can be recharged via a USB cable so if you want you could run this camera on an external battery if needed and it can use a solar panel in order to get power. I would say this is great to have because if you need a longer cable it is very easy to change out. The setup for this is fairly easy. Majority of this setup can easily be done on your phone if needed as you need to point the camera at a QR code to connect. After that, it will connect to your wifi network This device does not support 5 ghz. The night vision is okay but one thing to note is that you need to have this pointing away from walls. If you have it facing a wall the night vision may not work well as it reflects the night vision off the wall causing this BRIGHT reflection. You can also mount it as there are mounting brackets provided. There are anchors so you are able to easily mount this pretty much anywhere. This is an outdoor camera or indoor cam but I would still recommend that if you are going to put this on the outside make sure it in a dry place. Also do not put this by a window. It will be able to let you see outside but it will not detect motion nor will it be able to see at night. I do not really like how buggy the application is. It does not notify me of any motion. It also is terrible at connecting. It takes way too long to connect to the camera on the application and the battery only last for 2 weeks max. ... show more
