  • Wish it was insulated.
Like this bag.holds all my water, snacks, meds, block of ice. Wish it had some insulation to keep stuff cold. I took a reflective shinny windshield sun blocker & cut it to fit. Kind of helps. This was my 2nd choice bag. The 1st choice was sold out with no date of resupply. :( No issues with the buckles so far.The srtaps are plenty long enough to fit ant kayak. ... show more

  • Much better than other deck bags
This may be the best deck bag on the market. The internal frame and water proof construction protect everything inside, even with a roll. The sight window let's you know that everything is okay and dry. The additional straps are great for a pump and paddle float. There is a clip on the front for a light and additional straps on top where I have added my compass. ... show more

  • Jury is out on this one.
As a kayaking wildlife photographer most of my camera gear is placed in a dry bag. However, that makes it difficult to retrieve multiple times during a paddle. I own a smaller deck bag I have used for two years now but with the growth of my onboard camera gear I needed a larger deck bag. Being I own a smaller deck bag I knew what I needed to meet my goals. Seattle Sports Co. deluxe deck bag looked like it would meet my needs. Once received it requires some minor assembly, well I thought. It comes with two plastic slotted sheets for assembly which is well explained in the one page assembly instructions. The problem is one of the tangs on the plastic sheet is either too long or there is a bag assembly error as the plastic sheet won’t fit flush inside the left front corner below the zipper. Thus not allowing a complete clean fit of the insert squaring the left front corner of the deck bag. It still works but was disappointed on the fit. The bag design was well thought out and I really like the 4 side buckIe straps (2 on each lower side) allow me to secure 2 different style tripods I use during my video productions. It has a very strange bungee rigging setup on top which confuses me. I will re-rig it to a more traditional rigging. I personally think the small clear plastic window is irreverent and really serves no purpose and with it provides an additional weak spot in the unit. Material seams okay but only time will tell. I kayak about 4 times a week and my deck bag is always in use and after two years of use it’s still in total operational condition. I’m in hopes this larger bag will perform and hold up as well as my previous deck bag. This new deck back bag will hold a full DSLR, 4 GoPros, 3 wearable gimbals, water and other general items. I don’t feel the amount of gear I carry will be an issue with the deck bag. Finally I think a small roll up dry bag inside this product would be a great addition. ... show more

  • Sweats inside
This kayak deck bag is a great idea but it sweats inside the see through plastic window. It keeps your items dry from paddle spray. Might need to zip bag your important items like keys and such. It is sturdy and easy to put together, I like the size of it and will be able to fit a lot inside. It has snap buckles to open and strap to your rigging and also has straps on the side to hold a boat pump as well as water gun. ... show more

  • Good storage. NOT waterproof
Not waterproof. Has 3/16 hole where zippers meet. Great for storage of smaller items. (One bulky jacket and it’s basically full) Would be much better if it had a handle on it for carry.

  • Leaks profusely
I liked the price and volume of this bag. I used it on an 8 day unsupported kayak trip where it rained part of every day. The bag immediately got wet inside, to the point where I used the sponge to get standing water out of it. Fortunately everything in the bag was watertight. I need a deck bag that doesn't leak water!!! ... show more

  • So far, 5 stars!
I've had 3 different deck bags so far, and this is the only one I like. It says 15L, but this one easily fits twice as much inside over my old Chinook Aquawave, which is advertised as a 20L bag. This Seattle Sports bag resists water very well. The zipper has a rubber seal that resist seepage. And the zipper is easy to manipulate. The plastic liner/shell is very rigid and not prone to collapse like my Chinook bag. And I like the adjustable length straps and buckles for securing rather than bungie cords on the Chinook. So far, I give this 5 stars. I'll revisit this review after using it for a year or so. ... show more

  • zipper leaks
Tried once on ~3hours paddle. No rain, just some wind - water spraing from the the paddles. Ended up having quite a bit of water sloshing at the bottom of the bag. At first (barely adequate ) flap was suspected (what would it cost to make it larger???). Glued ~5" x 7" piece vinyl on the top of the flap, to make sure that water does not get in where zipper sliders meet junction. Did ~10 seconds shower test. It is definitely the zipper. :o( ... show more
