  • Great Product!
Size: 1000W Style: PRIME TX (new)
This is a very high quality PSU and makes my old corsair look shotty and cheap. I just wish I had gotten a 1300w. May exchange it for one. I love the product though

  • Awwwwwe, It's cute!
Size: 650W Style: FOCUS SGX (new)
Reviews are blended here, so this is for the SFX-L 650W version; As stated right above this ^. Probably the best ALL AROUND SFX-L PSU out there. Top performance, average efficiency, then fairly quiet. Even though dimensions are given, it's still pretty cool to see a 650W PSU this small in reality. It has a 120mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan which takes up the entire bottom/top, so just look at any 120mm fan and that's pretty much how big it is. If anyone is facing space issues, I'd highly recommend this unit even if your SFF case allows for a full ATX sized one. I end up using only Seasonic PSU's for their exceptional quality and attention to detail and this is no exception. I use to think their included storage bag was overkill but you know what? Now I expect stuff like that just in case I want to take my PSU out on the town. From the Nichicon hold-up cap, through all the Champion controllers, Rubycon, Chemi-Con, and what looks like FPcap filters, and dual 2x Infineon main switches, not one corner was skimped here. Reading reviews prior to purchases, I have heard earlier units only had one EPS connector, but mine positively had a dual-headed EPS connector. With SFX usually being used in iTX builds that don't need it I don't see the concern, but it's there now if you want to use this on something that does need two EPS connectors. I have mine in the pictured Fractal Node 202 and cabling is a cinch. The picture is without the 1050Ti installed for other reviews, but you can see how simple it is by just stuffing it in there. For those that care more, you can separate the ribbon cables, bundle them up into a round bunch and be much more clean...I love ribbon cables for just that ability! Here, I just don't think it matters much with a 65W TDP CPU and separate chambers for the already cool-ish GPU. It's a Blu-Ray player sized case, sorry for no banana for scale. There's a 450W version a little lower priced but I would pick this 650W version and here's my reasoning. This is a reasonably quiet PSU for it's size up to about 300-350W usage which is perfect for mostly everyone. However, after that the fan ramping/profile is very aggressive which I feel is actually loud. I imagine, but can not confirm, that the smaller model would have a profile just as aggressive and would ramp up to "loud" under even lower loads. Take that with a grain of salt because no normal load really gets above 250W in the normal world and this was found only while benchmarking the PSU and the PC itself where these are extreme pulls. The Corsair, which may appear better on paper is just flat out LOUD throughout the entire fan profile and would not recommend for SFF which end up in the entertainment center. It's also just above the 88% needed to gain the ETA-A "Gold" but I really feel most of that is just a sales pitch since Platinum is 90% so does that 2% have an RoE? Wanted to mention it because at times I had anomalies that put it riiiiiight at 88.08% that I can't explain. Others got more solid/repeatable results so I call myself out here as being flawed somewhere. I would buy this again for sure and highly recommend the SFX-L 650W version to anyone looking for a small power supply for a SFF build of any usage. The case had an option for their own PSU which was much lower cost over all, but all problems seem to start at a bad PSU...so piece of mind is worth more to me than dollars. ... show more

  • Another solid PSU from Seasonic
Size: 650W Style: FOCUS SGX (new)
The SGX-650 is a SFX-L power supply, certified 80Plus Gold and 650W, and fully modular. SFX-L is a PSU form factor just slightly larger than SFX: specifically it has a longer depth at 125mm instead of 100mm. This allows room for an internal 120mm fan for cooling instead of a smaller 92mm fan, which is beneficial for airflow and noise. However, because of this longer physical dimension, you must plan accordingly depending on your PC case. Also noteworthy is that Seasonic uses a fluid dynamic bearing fan, so no cheap sleeve bearings here. Upon first opening the box, you see that the cables and accessories are in their own fabric pouch, and the PSU cube is in another fabric pouch. Everything seems very premium from the get-go. Notably included is a SFX-ATX adapter plate, which allows you to use this PSU in a case that normally only accommodates regular ATX PSUs (more on that later). I am using this PSU with an overclocked Ryzen 2600X with a GTX1060, all in a Fractal Nano S case. The PSU stays absolutely silent under light use (web browsing, watching Netflix, etc). The fan does not spin until I fire up a game, and when it does spin it's pretty quiet. The rest of my review will be notes related to my specific use case. If you are planning on using this with the Fractal Nano S, please read on. One reason I purchased this PSU specifically is because a normal ATX PSU gives the graphics card an uncomfortably small amount of clearance. If you use Seasonic's included adapter, your PSU will not sit exactly all the way to the bottom of the case. Seasonic's adapter plate puts the PSU more toward the middle, which does *not* maximize GPU clearance in the Nano S. Luckily I noticed this in advance and purchased a Silverstone SFX-ATX adapter plate separately. One thing I did not take into account was the length of the included cables. These specs are listed on Seasonic's site, so this was my fault. If you plan on using this PSU in a larger case, measure the length of cable you think you will need. You may need extensions! In the Nano S specifically, the motherboard cable was not quite long enough to route it behind the motherboard tray, so I ended up having to purchase extensions. The included motherboard cable is 350mm long, and the CPU cable is 400mm long. The CPU cable actually *was* long enough, but just barely. I ended up buying an extension for that too even though it wasn't 100% necessary. In conclusion, I have every bit of confidence that this PSU will last a long time. Seasonic's warranty is 10 years, so they must have a lot of confidence in it too. If you follow any reviews on JonnyGuru, you see that Seasonic routinely crushes everyone else in things like voltage ripple and they often go above and beyond the model's 80Plus efficiency rating. I have no problem recommending this PSU to anyone. Just be sure to do some measuring first. ... show more
