  • You literally can't beat Seasonic!
2021 Update: My Seasonics are still going strong! Two SSR-750TR and one SSR-1300PD and I push them hard with TR 3970x, multiple GTX-1080s and RTX-3090s in my different data processing rigs. Look at the independent third party reviews and certifications, Cybenetics, JonnyGURU, etc. Look at the insane 12 year warranty. Seasonic objectively makes the best consumer PC power supplies. Don't get me wrong, I love EVGA, Corsiar, Antec, etc but these guys are the TDK-Lambda power supplies for the consumer PC world. (Trust me, I'm an engineer who works will tens of millions of dollars worth of electronics). As an engineer, I'm going to try my best to avoid over-engineering this review! I realize too much detail can be off-putting. My priorities were: 1. Efficiency 2. Longevity 3. Electrical precision and accuracy (which is a good indicator for overall build quality) After reviewing dozens of sources, Seasonic Titaniums came out on top of every of my requirements, as well as many other categories that you are probably considering. The only thing Seasonic doesn't lead the way with is INITIAL cost. It is more expensive than nearly any other. BUT, this is initial cost! If you've ever had a failed power supply, then you know that power supplies can get expensive over time. No need to worry about that with Seasonics excellent build quality and insane warranty. Think about it, you don't need to purchase a new power supply for the next 12 years! That is insane in the computer parts world! Buy one power supply now, and you are good for life! Do yourself a favor and use an online calculator to check the electricity cost of an 80% (Bronze) power supply and one of these Titanium models. You WILL save money each year in electricity costs. Now multiply that by 12 years. This power supply will save enough money to pay for the difference in cost of a cheap Bronze power supply and even literally pay for itself several times over! Then, look at how many watts your computer pulls most of the day (estimate or measure with an UPS or kill-a-watt meter). If it idles a lot, use that figure. If you only turn it on and game, use that figure. Then, look at the efficiency graphs for all of the different wattages that Seasonic offers and find the one that is most efficient in the wattage that your computer spends the most time. Use a 1000W power supply for a HTPC and you are not going to be as efficient as you should be. With a top of the line i7 with two GTX 1080 Ti's, my ideal range is the SSR-750. I bought the 850 a while ago because I had two power hungry Radeon 9790s. Pretty dang close in efficiency. I then bought the 750TR for another computer. No regrets. I actually bought a 850TD when they first released it. They had a pretty widely reported issue where they set the current protection a little two sensitive so that over time, the power supply would go into protection mode prematurely, followed by eventually tripping all the time. This is of course better than other designs were the protection fails and stuff gets damaged. Anyways, I just put in an RMA and shipped back my power supply and they shipped me out a whole new retail sealed one!! I was up and running in a few days. Amazing! I am a Seasonic customer for life! ... show more

  • Seasonic is the BEST - 1300W nuclear power plant for your next gen GPU
Seasonic is the best, the Seasonic PRIME 1300 Platinum SSR-1300PD 1300W is an absolutely beautiful PSU. It's near dead silent, efficient and gives me the head room to know that I can upgrade later. These new GPU's are very power hungry. If you're going high end CPU and RTX 3090 and up 850w isn't going to cut it anymore. I replaced my older Seasonic 850w gen1 that was having a ton of issues with newer RTX 3090 cards and shutting down the system for protection, it's a known issue. So far this beast has been able to handle my RTX 3090 with a ton of head room for upgrading. Just get it! Also Seasonic has amazing support. ... show more

  • It’s good! Spoken like a sports announcer.
It’s a quality PSU, should last a very long time. Super satisfied with it. No complaints. Would recommend.

  • Hybrid Mode Not Working
Seasonic has been my PSU of choice for some time now and this is the second one I've gotten with a faulty hybrid fan mode. Quick search revealed several videos of people that have encountered the same or a similar issue. When in hybrid mode the fan is off for a few minutes then it turns on even though there isn't a 40 or 50% load on the PSU. Then the fan switches between two different rpm levels for a while before shutting off for 15 seconds then rinse and repeat. Off, on silent, on normal, on silent, on normal, off, on normal, on silent, on normal, off, endlessly. Luckily the fan seems to work with hybrid mode disabled. It isn't too loud, but I was hoping for a silent PC which I don't have at this time. Otherwise the quality seems good, I like having single pci-e cables as opposed to two in one and haven't observed any other problems. ... show more

  • Mostly quiet.
I replaced my older Seasonic 1200w with the newer 1300w. The older 1200 was undetectably quiet when the fan turned on. The 1300w sounds like a jet taking off for 5-10 seconds and then spins to zero. Still trying to determine if there's a way to manage the fan RPM curve but I'm not finding a way to do so. ... show more

  • Great Power Supply
Seasonic continues to provide one of the best power supply's you can buy. I've had problems with other brands, too loud, random shutdowns etc. not with the Seasonic. Rock solid quiet performance!

  • I GOT THE POWER!
I bought a Seasonic platinum PSU last year thinking I was future proof. Then the 6900xt and RTX 3900 came out and that “future proofing” evaporated pretty instantly. I got this to re-future-proof my custom PC for a while longer than the 850 watt version lasted. It’s a beautifully designed PSU. Normally they’re just kind of there, but this one looks so nice that I almost feel bad enclosing it behind the shroud on my case. It’s solid and has the kind of weight you expect from a very premium product. ... show more
