  • Great rod for the money
Style: Cast-6'6"-ml-f-2pcs
I bought the 6'6 ML casting rod. It is very good build quality and as light weight as my $120 ml rod from a different brand. Very impressed. I paired it with the kastking BFS zephyr.

  • It's ok...but
Style: Spin-7'0"-mh-f-2pcs
So real quick the original one they sent me i sent back and they sent a replacement due to the joints not sitting flush when putting it together. The replacement sent has the same issue so it maybe just how they are designed. I'm no professional on 2 pieces and usually fish with one piece, but on my other 2 2pieces from other brand they sit flush inside each other. The pole itself is pretty light and comfortable to hold for long periods of time. I haven't taken it out tons as time doesn't allow me to have extensive fishing times. I mated the pole to a 2500 Pflugerville president spinner and seemed to have good balance and cast ability. During the couple fishing sessions I used a 1/8 oz jig on 6lb braid. It casted pretty well and I'd say far. Had that great giant caught on it 😅 in the pics, but that was the only size catches i could get but the rod was pretty sensitive. I had planned to use this pole with a larger 6000 optix this weekend as I had a chance to camp all weekend at lake Livingston, but when I got their I found that it didn't fit so no fishing with it this weekend and reminded me that one must always check their equipment before heading out lol. For the money cost it seems pretty ok, but I do not like the fact the 2 pieces don't sit flush inside each other, as well as it didn't fit my larger reel. The eyes seem ok except the furthest is very tiny. Also another thing that annoyed me is hook keeper on the pole. I like that it isn't a closed ring but would have preferred it in another position. Sometimes I would cast and it would catch the line inside the hook keeper and stop my cast. I will continue to test out this pole but I'd say for the price point it is an ok one for an extra setup not a main, however if you get it on sale closer to $20 it makes it an easier option. ... show more

  • Perfect for fluke, stripped bass and weakfish fishing with plugs off the beach
Style: Spin-8'0"-m-f-2pcs
I pared this rod with a 3000 series Daiwa Fuego reel and 15 lb test 9x braided line. I was able to cast out a ¼ ounce jig baited with a 6 inch gulp. A length of monofilament line was between the braided line and the jig. This is not my usual fishing style or rig and I was very curious how my fishing buddy would react to the rod. The first thing he checked was the action and was very impressed with how the fast action loaded under tension. He showed a side by side comparison to his rod which cost well north of $100 and they were identical. We were fishing with exactly the same jig and he was able to cast with this rod as far as he was casting with his favorite rod. He was very impressed! His opinion was that this rod is an absolute steal at the current pice and he plans on ordering one himself. He said this is a real sleeper in the fishing community and once the word get out these will become super popular. Get yours now while the price is very favorable. Some details about the actual rod. It comes with a nice sleeve with separate pockets for the base and tip end. The end flap closes over and there are ties at both ends to secure it in the sleeve. The quality of the blank and line guides was very impressive. The metal rings were lined with some type of hard epoxy/graphite material that was absolutely impervious to braided line. It was equally super smooth casting of the same braided line. The model I had had a separate butt end knob which I found to be super handy for making long casts. I also noticed that unlike some budget rods, the guides all stepped down incrementally in size as they progressed from the butt end to the tip. Some rod makers cheat and use a few equal size guides which messes with the rod balance and casting ability. This maker didn’t cheat. Everything punches way above the price point, what a great rod! ... show more

  • Good rod
Style: Spin-7'0"-mh-f-2pcs
This rod is a good value for the price. The eyes are smooth and in line. It casts well and is sensitive enough to feel every little nibble.

  • Looking to try out baitcating reel so this was a good price point to start with.
Style: Cast-7'0"-mh-f-2pcs
Mated to a Scorpion King Baitcaster Reel so less than $100 to try. Overall this works for me for northern pike, large mouth bass and walleye. I haven't used it a lot so as the season progresses if something changes I'll update this review. Comments on items others pointed out, see photos, a reviewer said the two pieces didn't fit together flush and when I look at the entire rod it looks to be a design element. There's a consistent black wrap grey space black wrap that's on the guides, hook retainer, etc. Another user pointed out the hook retainer caught the line when casting. The retainer is a bent over piece of metal that isn't wrapped like my other rods so I can see this lifting a bit and catching the line. For the price I'm happy with the rod. ... show more

  • Decent Carbon Fiber Rod
Style: Spin-8'0"-m-f-2pcs
I do a lot of fishing and I have a number of different rods in different styles. The look and feel of this rod is decent, and it feels like it has a ok if not a fairly stiff action (I got the 8' two piece). I would probably target it for larger species like pike or similar, not so much for smaller trout. I do agree with what one reviewer mentiond about the real not being able to seat into the rod very well, I tried two reels to verify that this is indeed an issue on the rod. It bairly holds on both reels a tried, which were both 2500 style reels. Getting a larger reel, like a 4000 or 5000 is probably not going to happen. But the handle feels good in the hand and the fit and finish of the eyelets does seem good. As a middle of the road rod I think it will be fine. ... show more
