Description

This year, the laughs are off the charts in TV's most surreal and sidesplitting show. SCRUBS' hilarious fourth season does "an amazing job combining cheeky comedy...and honestly poignant drama," raves Newsday. Catch the most contagious comedy around with every episode, complete with hysterical bonus features and the show's original, unedited music in 5.1 Surround Sound. Matthew Perry, Tom Cavanagh and Molly Shannon are just a few of the guest stars joining the staff this year. And the crew of Sacred Heart makes their biggest moves yet as Elliot leaves the hospital for a new job, and J.D. faces life on his own for the first time. More guest stars move through the revolving door of Sacred Heart Hospital in Scrubs' fourth season, with results as uneven as the show itself. With last season's climactic end to J.D. (Zach Braff) and Elliot (Sarah Chalke)'s relationship resolved within two episodes, Heather Graham (Boogie Nights) comes on board as a cheerful psychiatrist/love interest, and Julianna Margulies (ER) as a cutthroat malpractice attorney/love interest. But the real love story of Scrubs has always been between J.D. and Turk (Donald Faison), a point that is poked fun at in the season opener, as the two joyously reunite after Turk's honeymoon with nurse Carla (Judy Reyes). Turk and Carla struggle to navigate newlywed life, made all the more complicated by J.D.'s drunken kiss with Carla. Meanwhile, at the hospital, it's Elliot who proves the more proficient doctor when she shares co-chief resident with J.D., and a few (though not enough) patient stories, including Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon as a chatterbox ambulance driver with a secret, Matthew Perry (Friends) as an air traffic controller estranged from his dad (played by John Perry, his real father), and in the most bizarre bit of stunt casting, Colin Farrell (Miami Vice) as an unintelligible Irishman (so, basically himself) and American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken as a singing cafeteria worker(!). Some of Scrubs' special features this time around are ho-hum, including short vignettes on "The Mysterious Janitor" and more on J.D. and Dr. Cox. The only pleasant surprise is an audio commentary from Braff (who was absent from season three's commentaries and was ribbed in season two's disc for being too important shooting films to contribute), speaking on "My Last Chance," which he directed. Season Four is a letdown compared to the previous seasons' smooth navigation between belly laughs and heartache; here's hoping Scrubs' trademark hysterics get resuscitated for season five. --Ellen A. • Super funny show!
If you loved seasons 1-3, you will also love season 4! Just as funny! The only complaint is the middle disc of mine is defective not from scratches (from heat?) and won't play 2 episodes but still worth keeping.

  • In love seasons 1-4. I bought separetly. The rest of the season's are NOT worth the $$!
It is great buying these by the individual seasons. These are now on TV but TV cuts out PERFECT SCENES! OWING SEASONS 1-4, you realize QUICKLY what scenes they omit and it's always good ones! It is SO WORTH IT TO BUY BY SEASONS BECAUSE THERE ARE ITHER SEASONS THAT ARE NOT WORTH THE $$ and seeing it on TV makes you realize it would 've a WASTE OF $$ to buy the FULL COLLECTION! ... show more

  • Love Season 4 of Scrubs
The last time I reviewed Scrubs season 4, I had the misunderstanding of how my DVD player was obviously older & lacked the technology to read the discs. I even contacted Buena Vista studios to speak with a technician. She explained to me that my problem may be with the age of my player. Well after checking out all three copies that I had in my possession, to my embarrassment, the technician was correct. I guess I was thinking with sentiment because my youngest son gave me the player that it would last forever. If phone technology changes, "duh" so will DVD players etcetera. Albeit, Amazon sold a great product. Thank You. With sincere appreciation, Cherie J. ... show more

  • Big Scrubs Fan
I own every episode of every season of Scrubs - I've actually had to replace some of the seasons because I watched them so much. This is worth the money for anyone you know who liked the show or who likes the reruns still showing on TV - especially since you can usually get these for pretty cheap (especially here on Amazon). ... show more

  • Funny show
Season four of Scrubs is the continuation of one of the funnier shows that's ever been on TV. JD and Turk are two of my favorite characters in tv and if you want a good show that will make you laugh, then this is a good one to choose.
