This is a very handy scientific calculator that is ideal for students. The calculator seems to be well made and a good size. It is roughly the same size as an iPhone 14 and is very light weight. The display is function informative and is easy to read. It has a plethora of scientific functions as well as routine non-scientific functions. The notepad function may be handy for some and it comes with a stylus attached, though there is no way to save what was written. You erase what was written by pressing a button. It reminds me of the very old kids writing toys where you lift the plastic sheet to erase what was written. The calculator comes nicely packaged with decent instructions for its varied functions. The product works on two dime sized batteries, one for the calculator and one for the notepad. At this price point, in my opinion, both should be rechargeable and/or solar. It is for this reason and the limited value of the notepad that I reduced the star rating by one. I've got to say, this is my first calculator with an "adult Etch-a-Sketch" type notepad. :-) So handy, even though writing is dark on a dark screen. Ok price, considering the notepad and stylus are included. There is a battery needed for the calculator and one for the notepad (which are included and installed). The description and box stating "solar scientific calculator" is very misleading if not paying attention to all listed details. In the description it lists the color as solar, but to use that in the description name, come on, that's just kind of bait and switch, isn't it? We'll see how the battery life is for each feature. I mainly was looking for a battery powered calculator, since my solar one sometimes is finicky on darker days. The writing pad was just a novelty, but do wish that it worked a little better. It is hard to write anywhere near as fine as indicated in the pictures, and it is nowhere near as bright. I don't think they doctored the images though. I'm trying to add a picture to this review and it does look much brighter through the camera lens. Can't knock it overall. Calculator is a perfectly good scientific calculator, and the writing pad is just something to have fun with. ... show more

This calculator is pretty neat. Has plenty of scientific functions. The drawing tab works well for small quick calculations however because of, longer more complex math equations render it useless and youll find yourself going back to a notebook. With that being said still a neat concept and does serve its purpose for certain situations ... show more

    • A Bit Flimsy But It Does the Job
This is pretty unique calculator, or at least, unique for me. In addition to being a calculator, it also has a built-in scratch pad. You can scribble a note, problem, or solution and then clear it away with the push of a button. Notes- - Feels a bit flimsy. The plastic is thin and doesn't feel high quality, but it is good enough - As a calculator, it works very well. It does all of the functions that you need for algebra or geometry. It wouldn't have been my first choice when I was an engineering student, but it would work well for high school - The scratch pad work, but it's not the best one that I have used. It seems a bit inaccurate to the touch ... show more

As the title suggests, it’s not up to par with true scientific calculators. This is essentially a pretty run of the mill calculator with some scientific functions. Though, I do believe the price fairly represents that. The writing pad is a really neat addition, though the clear/reset button takes forever to actually clear the writing, which could be annoying when moving from problem set to problem set. Overall it’s a great calculator and is reliable and accurate but if you are in the market for true a scientific calculator, there are other options. ... show more

I really like the calculator and the writing tablet on the side. However, the writing tablet is so faint you cannot see it unless you aim it right into the light. This can be a problem if you're in a darker place or not able to get right up to a light, like in a store, which is one area where I was excited to use this.
