Works very well out of box , but have a bike shop do final ajustments and test ride, its well worth it. Have 2 other ebikes currently from R.E.I and Raleigh ,but been ebike riding since 2010. Have one mid drive and other rear drive like this one, but like the Throttle and ride feel on this Coston CE Schwinn is much better. Very well built. Size chart maybe wrong got the small-medium just fits, I'm 6 foot/ 31" inseam guy so you may need a extra small for extra room. Can go about 25-30 miles on a charge( has a 8 amp hrs battery which is smaller than some) with a 240 lbs guy on it, you might get more or less. Color is Awesome in metalic Red and feels sturdy. I'm a retired Bike Mechanic, and this Schwinn Coston CE with front shock under $ 1000.00, rides much better than my $ 2200.00 R.E.I City 2.2 mid drive with 700c 45mm tires. The 2.6" Wide tires are very nice on gravel/street and love the hi quality all metal but quiet fenders Faster than I thought with 27.5 x 2.6 ( almost fat tires). Overall, a Great quailty in town/trail or Commuter with up to 20 mph speed really AND Throttle. Get the extended battery ( about 400.00 or less) if traveling more than 25 mile round trip, but charges pretty fast. Great Job Schwinn . paid under 1k at Amazon and worth every penny, compared to over 20 ebikes I've tested and rented since working for a bike shop, here in The Bay Area for Over 6 years. I bought from Schwinn because of their reputation. I am 5'6" with average build and I can not reach the pedals from the lowest setting on their S/M bike even despite being well within their height range for the bike. I called and asked if perhaps they shipped the wrong seat pole with the bike and their customer service was rude and dismissive. They eventually agreed to send a new seat and pole but I only got the pole. I called Schwinn again and was told that my only option on a $2000 bike was to see if I could find an after market seat that would work better. Even after I explained that even my 6' son found the seat too high. Customer service said "everybody is built differently". So unless you have the legs of someone who is taller than about 6'2" DON'T buy this bike as you will have a headache dealing with having to return it or spending even more money because their engineers don't know how to adjust for people's height. It's very pretty though. I hate to have to return it but it is unsafe the way it is. ... show more

This bike is Amazing! I recently had a job change where riding a bike would be more convenient than driving to work. After some research and considering several different options, I decided on the matte charcoal Schwinn Coston e-bike. This bike has not disappointed. Bike shipped super fast. There were a couple of spots on the box that were damaged, but the bike was double boxed and in perfect condition when opened. The bike was 3/4 of the way assembled. The remainder of the assembly was very straight forward and easy due to the very clear step by step directions in the owner's manual and supplied tools. Once assembled, the bike took about 4 hours for the initial battery charge. I was a little worried about which size to purchase. I am a 5'9 male and purchased the L/XL size according to the size chat, and the size chart is right on. I've ridden heavy single speed cruiser bikes for a while and was excited to see how much the electric assist would help. The bike did NOT disappoint. The e-bike handlebar display and key pad are straight foward and easy to use. My 1st ride was a 4 mile ride around town, and it was awesome. Even with just the electric assist on the "1" setting, hills were effortless. I can honestly say this was one of the most enjoyable bike rides I've had in years. I was also curious how the electric assist would work while braking or just coasting. I was pleasantly surprised how responsive the brakes are and also how the electric assist stops when you are braking. 1st ride was great, but I purchased this bike to be a commuter bike for every day. Again, I am very happy with this purchase. I can get to my new job in the same amount of time or less than if I was driving to work. The 5 different electric assist levels make it easy to accelerate from stop signs and reach a great cruising speed in no time. It's very well built, sturdy, and a very comfortable ride. Should have checked Amazon first! We had to deal with the nightmare of canceling one bike and getting price match on the other from Dick's once we realized we paid twice the price ordering from them. Dick's bike experts are not needed to put this bike together - it comes 90% assembled in the box. With the video available here and on youtube for that exact bike it was a breeze for two people to pull it out of the box and use the box as a prop to finish assembly. The brake and gear adjustments are done by handy lil knobs. It is heavy, and it is tall. We got L/XL and S/M and I can tell you the seats at their lowest levels are the same height because the same seat post is used and it can't go lower into the S/M bike post. I'm 5'9" so it was ok, but I actually didn't like the seat it came with - the storage is cute but not really practical for me and it's not as comfy as my old cruiser seat. Of course my cruiser seat post didn't fit in this wider bike post so I also had to buy an adaptor, but once I did, I not only had my seat of choice I was also able to lower it a smidge since that older seat post was also shorter! We didn't get these for max speed. We bought these because we moved to the top of a hill in a hilly neighborhood and never rode our regular bikes again after the first horrible attempt....now we can cruise all over with no worries! We've been on several adventures checking out places in our new area we wouldn't have otherwise had access to. They are absolutely beautiful in the green color, haven't had any issues at all, and we love them. ... show more
