  • Best gravel tire ever. Hands down.
Size: 700x40c, width 39c – 50c
If you’re serious about gravel, this is your tire. Better than Gravel Kings, WTBs, etc. I’ve burned through so many brands. Goat heads to random gnarly rock punctures, those other tires do not hold up. I did the research on Schwalbes… suggest you do too… watch how they’re manufactured… then make a decision. 2k miles so far and not a scratch. Super low rolling resistance. Averaging 19-22 mph on gravel, faster on paved. 23-27. Comes down to how conditioned you are as a rider but these tires are top gun. The best of the best. ... show more

  • Great ride, pucture resistant, unfortunately they aren't puncture proof.
Size: 700 x 35
I bought these because they are famous for their durability and puncture resistance. Unfortunately they aren't puncture proof. I had a gnarly puncture from a two inch nail that destroyed my inner tube. I've only been riding on them for several weeks too! Good to know however because I am about ro put 2000 miles on them and now I know not to be overly confident lol! They have a sturdy yet fairly comfortable ride that you can take on multi terrain. Good quality. ... show more

  • "The new Flat-less tire" (their words)
Time will tell if they are more resistant to flat than the Armadillos I have been using for the past several years. They ride well and I like the very reflective strip on the sidewall. Schwalbe rates these a 6 out of a 1 to 6 scale for both puncture resistance and durability. After about 4,000 miles of daily commuting on Chicago's city streets (mostly Elston), I finally had my first flat. I think that is the first time I have every gone that long without a flat in my 30 years of biking. Could be coincidence. Probably the tire. It was a nail and I believe that no other tire would have held it at bay either, so I cannot really fault the tire. I do however have an issue and I am not sure if it is worth docking this 1 star or not. After only 4000 miles, there is one section of the tire that is bulging out a bit and the tire is no longer completely round. I feel the bump, bump as it rotates under me and it is obvious when you flip the bike over and give it a spin. The side walls seem to be weakening in once section. I removed the tire and patched my flat and replaced a couple of spokes, gave it a good cleaning and inspection and did not really see anything amiss when it was off my bike, however after I put it back on again and inflated my tire to 45psi, the bulge was back again. It is not the rim. It is obviously the tire. I have never had that happen before with my Armadillos. Admittedly I am not gentle with my tires. I carry a lot of weight (over 300lbs total including the bike) and go up and down curbs and have hit many a pot hole, but I have done the same with the Armadillos. Update: Sure enough, the tire did not last another 17 miles before the sidewall gave out and I had to walk the remaining 3 miles home just now. There is likely nothing wrong with these tires in general, but I was spooked enough to order this tire as a replacement: Panaracer RiBMo PT Tire with Wire Bead ... show more

  • Love These Tires
Size: 700 x 35
WOW!!! Not much else to be said. I have roughly 1,600 miles on a pair of these tires and just finished a 1,200 mile "Tour de Florida". I was fully loaded for self-contained tour. Granted, I took things on this tour I didn't really need, but this tour was a decision maker for a bicycle tour around the world. I didn't have an itinerary, so I took my time, visited with friends around the state and just did what I wanted to do. See Florida like I never have before in 2 months. I stayed mostly on roadways, although in the Everglades I ended up on 17 miles of a gravel trail. Which really had my decision to go on this trail reeling as there were so many alligators right on the trail. The tires also held up to an additional 7 miles of trail that was not maintained at all on the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail I just have to say, yes the rear tire is showing more wear than the front, I didn't swap the tires on the rims yet, front to back and back to front. But these tires held up very well considering the 108 lbs. of gear I was carrying. Knock on wood, I didn't have a single flat tire on the entire ride. Eventhough there were some areas I got nervous with what I was putting the tires through. OOOOOO YEA!!! I highly recommend these tires if you're worried where and what you're going to put them through. They are Durable!!! Update 3/5/2014: I can't get these tires to die!!! I want to put a new set on before I go on a 8 month tour around Europe, flying back into Toronto and pedaling down the Eastern Seaboard back home to Florida. 8,000+ miles now, riding daily, you can see they're worn, but haven't died yet. Annnnnd ..... Not a Flat "ONE"!!! The AWESOMENESS of bicycle tires for durability and dependability!!! ... show more

  • High mileage with low flat rate = happiness
Size: 700 x 35
The last Schwalbe Marathon Plus I had to replace lasted 16,000 miles (25,750 KM). My weight plus that of the bike is about 300 pounds (136 KG). Those tires carry a lot of weight even when I don't have groceries or other cargo. It rains a great deal in Louisiana, more and more as the climate changes. I've never had a problem with traction in wet conditions. What ever else may be a factor (most people talk about high rolling resistance), not getting flats more than compensates for any drawbacks. ... show more
