I've had issues with my car battery lately, and I am looking to get it replaced soon and I've been looking for a battery charger so that I could plug it in at home, and I saw this one that comes with not only the battery charger, but also is able to fully jump start my car in the even that I am alone and there is no car to assist me to get jumped. I used the car battery charger already and it charged my car battery miraculously and quickly! I was very shocked at how powerful this little machine is, and I really like that I can plug it in at my house and keep it in my car locked away in the even that I do need it. I like how compact it is, and it's not super big and bulky. I like that there are no cords just hanging around when I need to charge my battery, and there is not need or use for an extension cord if this is fully charged. I haven't had to use this for jumping my car just yet, hopefully I don't have too anytime soon, but I am super excited to have this jump start my car all on its own! I like how the machine tells you what you need to be doing and it does the rest. I like that the directions are clear, and that it is easy to understand. I like that this battery charger and jump starter for my car is at the lower end of the price ranges for the other battery chargers and jump starter combos on Amazon, and that it is still a very good quality battery charger and starter and is still at what I think is a very reasonable and fair price for all that it can do. It even extends the help by limiting you having to get a ride from someone or wait on someone to come and help you, when you have this with you instead. I feel that that is something that has value that extends beyond the cost of this item and I am very happy that it is. I do not have any complaints or concerns with this automatic battery charger and jump starter, only compliments! Overall, I am very happy that I got this, and I am very happy that I don't have to worry in the back of my mind what I will do if my battery gets low on juice and needs a jump, and this means a lot to me. I would highly recommend this to everyone with a vehicle that never knows when you will need it, but it will be good to have if you ever did need it. ... show more

This review is on the Pro SPR1629 battery charger from Schumacher Electric. The images show some details of it after unboxing and using it on my backup mower. The listing provides a good overview of the chargers features, specifications and types of batteries it can be used on. It’s quality manufactured and I didn’t find any flaws or defects with it. All the led indicators are bright and easy to see. Both the A/C and D/C cables are approximately 6’ in length and are heavy duty. The clamps are larger than most you find with this size charger and are heavy duty as well. The instructions are clear, easy to read and understand. The operation is very simple, press the battery type, charge rate and then press start. From there on the charger does the charging process automatically. The three leftmost percentage indicators show 25-75% of the charge obtained. The rightmost indicator shows 100% charge and when this is achieved it switches into maintain mode. I used it on my backup mower that has a battery that’s in a weakened state of health and it actually improved it somewhat according to my battery analyzer. I included some photos of using the charger on my mower but my camera did a poor job of showing the indicator lights. I also tried simulating a power outage. When I restored the power the charger did restart and begin the charging process but unfortunately the correct type of battery was not automatically detected which means you will be required to reset it after a power interruption. I’ve been using Schumacher products for many years and always have had positive results. They are all still working well and I still use them all to this day. So I’ve looked at the chargers at Walmart and used other chargers throughout the years. I currently have an older charger that has a plastic case with various settings for battery type, temperature, etc. Every time I use it I have to spend 10 min re-reading the instructions. This unit has a metal case for durability and is fully automatic. I like knowing the battery type and what is going on and don’t like being ignorant of details, but this makes life easier and more useful for others who aren’t “into” service batteries. This unit is heavy compared to other chargers I’ve used. The handle is a little awkward, but not bad. I don’t plan on carrying it around a lot. For me, the have to have features include… slow trickle charge, normal charge rate, and jump start. 100% of my batteries are lead/acid and range from truck to motorcycle. I once had a gel battery but it leaked. I’ve never had a lithium ion. Maybe these will be more common so it is nice that this charger can support these and I won’t need another charger if my specific needs change. ... show more

This battery charger is better than most. The connector cables are clearly marked and are a goodly length, the electric cord is also longer than most so the unit can be easily used. The instructions are easy to read and very succinct for even a novice to understand. We have not had a need to actually use this battery charger yet but we are comfortable knowing that we have a reliable unit ready when we need one. ... show more
