Unlike a previous reviewer, I did not feel that these figurines looked junky. I've been quite happy and impressed with all of my previous Schleich orders, and this wildlife set was no exception. The animals are sturdily packaged in a box with a safari background. (It appears that you could slit the sides of the box to use the packaging as a display.) The set contains five animals: an elephant calf, a giraffe calf, a flamingo, a giant pangolin, and a baby cheetah. While my local retail store has a few of these animals, I found purchasing them as a set to be more cost-effective. (This way my son could have the flamingo, too, which I haven't seen in person.) All of the animals are hand-painted, and they are all remarkably similar to the product picture. I am particularly enamored with the baby elephant and the legs of the flamingo (pink and grey). Like all Schleich figurines, these are sturdy and hold up to my toddler's rough idea of play. I am quite pleased with my purchase and will continue to buy more. ... show more

SCHLEICH animals are great, but usually a little pricey for our budget. The quality is worth the price, but it's usually a little much for us. This was a good deal to buy them as a set. It worked perfectly because one daughter's favorite animal is the flamingo, and our son just had to have a pangolin! Our other daughter was happy with whatever. So it worked great for us. I love the quality of these animals. I was recommended to this brand by a friend and fell in love and have ordered several. These are worth the money and are made to last. I set them up in my daughter's toy habitat in her room and they are perfect. The attention to detail on these are impressive. Love the habitat pictures they come with in the background of the box as well, I took those out and put them behind her habitat and she loves to turn the animals like they're facing and watching the pictures, it's so cute! ... show more

As all Schleich animals, these were great. I bought them as a gift for the secret busy exchange at the after school program and the boy who received them loved, loved, loved them (as his mother told me after). Quirky fun set of animals. Good mixture of immediately recognizable/loved like the giraffe and the elephant, and some new critters to love like the ?pangolin. Schleich is probably one of the best brands I've seen for these toy animals. They are durable, look accurate and don't have random plastic/rubber (whatever it is) on the seams that I've seen on other brands. They are painted well too. I've not noticed any chipping. I saw a cake on Pinterest with animals in tiny hats and decided to make the attempt myself. These worked great and all the animals stand freely. The painting quality is also really good.
