  • We Love Sauder Furniture!
Color: Dakota Oak Finish
A lot of home furniture we have is by Sauder. The wardrobe is well made & easy to assemble. Buyers should note the position adjustable cabinet door hinges. After complete assembly it will likely be required to reposition the cabinet doors slightly so the large bottom drawer can slide completely inward. This is only to put the cabinet doors into their most correct height position. (We're talking maybe between 1/8th & 1/4 inch movement.) This wardrobe is quite sturdy & we love it for our grandson. It's also attractive to look at from a furniture standpoint. I will note that we had to exchange the first one we received because the shipper badly handled it & caused damage to it. So CAREFULLY inspect the package for tears, dents, etcetera before opening it and make sure in wet weather you have a place for them to leave it where it won't get wet. Hope this helps everyone! We'll try to add some photos if we can. ... show more

  • Good product!!
Color: Dakota Oak Finish
Let's clarify...First off, I read all of the reviews before purchasing this. When I read the one star reviews I was sincerely concerned about buying this. I'm a woman, I'm pretty handy. I don't have an expertise level of skill but I can navigate directions and use a screwdriver or drill. OK, the directions CLEARLY STATE not to assemble standing up OR try to stand up BEFORE you put the back piece on otherwise it will collapse... now that's out of the way, you "one star" reviewers are not fair. This took long to put together because it's actual decent material and of it's sturdy construction it is just that... A STURDY PIECE OF FURNITURE. The doors are difficult to get to align properly if you're assembling alone, I recommend two people when you put the doors on. Other than that every other part you can do alone. I have moved this around in my room trying to figure where to place it and it is loaded with my husbands clothes, shoes, etc. it's sturdy. Has not remotely shown signs of weakness, you have to know how tightly to secure screws. if you tighten screws too much you will cause breaks in the boards ie create areas of weakness. The directions are clear and concise, the materials came perfectly packaged and labeled(with exception of a couple boards) but it's pretty easy to figure out. overall, this is a good buy, worth the price that I paid($152) and a great addition to my room. My husband loves it. ... show more

  • Every little part requires assembly
Color: Sienna Oak Finish
We needed a closet to complete a bedroom in a very small condo and didn't want to spend a lot. The size was important and it had to look good, not be anything fancy, just hold a few clothes hangers on a rod. A drawer was an afterthought, yet turned out to be an asset. We liked that this was made in the USA, were happy it came from Ohio. Surprisingly, this small wardrobe weighed a ton in the shopping box but weighed nearly as much out of the box. At almost 130 pounds, be prepared if you need to move it yourself and it doesn't hurt to be kind to your delivery person when the package arrives. Nothing separates the parts in the box, so hope yours travels quickly to avoid damage. Ours was on the road for only a couple of days and there was some minor breakage at board edges which we decided to live with due to time constraints. Out of the box, we saw that most parts were labeled with lettered stickers and everything was identified in the manual. This manual looked good and was very complete. My only gripe was that the hardware was labeled in the plastic compartmentalized bag but identified with different numbers in the manual. This became confusing at first but since I chose to read the description of the piece instead of a number or letter, it was fine. All parts were included but there was no extra bit or piece, screw or nail included. Assembly was straightforward, just take your time and stay away from power tools to avoid damaging the particleboard. Also watch out for sharp pieces or you might end up with a gouge in your palm as I did. Follow the instructions to avoid an off balanced wardrobe. It took two of us about an hour and a half from opening the box to hanging the clothes and filling the very smooth sliding drawer. The interior shelf can be excluded if your clothes need extra length, but we are using it in ours. There are ballast boards on the bottom of the piece and they really do help keep this from tipping or becoming top heavy. All in all, we are satisfied, just hope it holds up longer than the warranty. I'm attaching a photo of the assembled piece as well as a couple of close ups of problematic boards. They aren't major, just disappointing out of the box. ... show more

  • STAY AWAY LIKE THE PLAGUE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Color: Dakota Oak Finish
This is a terrible, terrible product. I regret this purchase very much and wish I could return it. Packaging is horrible. The box was mangled, the plastic wrap didn't survive shipping, and the pieces inside were scratched and battered. The instructions are terrible. No labeling on the four "ballast" pieces which have to be assembled in a particular order and bolted to the bottom, but they put stickers for the obvious giant panels that match their drawing in the directions. Who does that? At one point, it says to put the moveable shelf in the unfinished unit BEFORE lifting the assembly off the floor. How would it stay in place? What wizardy would let this work? Tried it, trusting the directions, and it fell out and sliced my husband's leg. The cardboard rear "panel" does not sit square and true. The drawer is fine. The doors need lots of adjustment because the holes aren't perfect for mounting the hinges. What else would you expect? The bar for hangars does NOT stay in, it pops out if you lift at all, so you have to screw it in or just never take clothing out of the closet. I hate this thing. Everyone hates this in my house. Even the baby, he cries when he looks at it. I wish we built it sooner so we could return it. ... show more
