I ordered this desk for my office at church. It's the perfect size for a small office. I also ordered the matching bookshelf. This desk went together like a dream. It took time, but so does any project like this. The instructions were well written and easy to follow. The finish is very nice and smooth but doesn't look like plastic. The wood grain shows, nicely. I especially like the new drawer assembly. If anyone out there knows what I mean, the drawers can be quite tedious, using lots of screws and plastic brackets to hold the drawer front on. These had slots in the drawer face that locked the sides into place. Much easier to assemble. The only thing I did extra was to take a brown furniture touchup marker and go over all the lighter edges where the laminates come together. This adds a nice touch and blends the edges to make it look like solid wood. Beautiful desk! ... show more

This was delivered in excellent condition, I laid all pieces out to confirm everything was there, it was. took my time and read the instruction carefully and this desk went together great. Instructions are excellent, parts went together easily, and the desk looks great. My take on this desk is if something doesn't fit you didn't put it together right or it needs adjustment. Everything is well labeled. Took me about 5 hours with a few breaks to assembly, also this thing is heavy, 135#, for 20 bucks extra Amazon will deliver to the room of your choice, mine was in the basement. Directions were very clear step by step. When they say you might need a second person, YOU DO. The attaching pieces ( like bolts) are finicky, easy to break, definitely need another person for certain parts. It’s beautiful when “finally” completed and very sturdy. I’m sure a handy guy or gal would have had an easier time assembling. But it’s totally doable. I had planned to put router and cable box on top shelf of computer table side cabinet. They don’t fit. Wire outlets to the back of table are wonky. The mouse cord barely has enough reach to be usable. However I think that could be fixed easily. The computer tower fits well. This duo was assembled in a bed room my recently disabled hubby is using. It looks great and I’m working on organizing the electronics. What I love about this company is the very clear directions and videos available for construction. Parts are separated and labeled in one large flat package. Desk is very functional for my purpose. Relatively easy to put together. The cover for the middle pencil drawer was improperly drilled and the holes were off line. I had to turn the cover over and reattach to the drawer. It was then necessary to drill a new hole through the front of the drawer in order to attach the drawer knob. First of all I do like the product for the size and sturdiness. Putting it together was a bit of a challenge to say the least. Honestly it wasn't too bad until it came time to work on assembling and installing the drawers. They did present a problem, especially the pencil drawer. Something was not measured correctly because there is no way in the world that thing was going to go in correctly according to the directions. Ultimately I had to exchange one of the plastic brackets that hold a cabinet rail for a small block of wood just slightly smaller so that the drawer could fit in and go in correctly. Otherwise it was just too tight to fit. Customer service even sent me a replacement pencil drawer but the results were the same. Oh I could get it in, but not correctly. The wheels on the drawer rails refused to slide in to the cabinet rails as pictured, they would ride on top of them instead. At best I could only get one side or the other to go in right while the other side rode on top of the rail. This only served to tilt the drawer sideways which really annoyed me. I have never had such a problem before assembling any Sauder product and this won't prevent me from doing so in the future. I just wanted to point out that it might require you to get creative in this case. Was damaged in shipping but didn’t want to rebox it to return, the box is really heavy would prefer two boxes. Was fairly ok to assemble, the drawer slides were hard to get even so one drawer isn’t leveled and another shuts farther in , could probably fix it but didn’t want to unscrew the slides.
