I bought this external drive specifically for gaming because my regular SSD is too small, I don't have space in my case for an additional one, and I can't be bothered to deal with a whole operating system reinstall to replace my internal SSD when I really just want a drive to play games from. Enter this SSD. I've had it for months now and I've played various modern games from Baldur's Gate 3 to Overwatch 2 to Veilguard on it with no lag or crashes, and the load times are noticeably faster than when I was playing from my internal SSD. Funnily, due to the USB support, it actually is legitimately faster than if I were using my internal, which was an eye-opening realisation. I just leave the drive connected 24/7, even on the rare occasions I bother rebooting, because frankly I'm lazy, and I've had zero trouble with it. Nothing special was required; I plugged it in, my system detected it immediately, and I was good to go. Occasionally it'll get a bit hot to the touch after extended play, but it cools down again quickly and I've noticed no performance issues whatsoever. I bought this to supplement my 1TB Sandisk portable SSD and to rotate backups in a safe place in case of disaster. Backups are very speedy and I get close to the published read/write specs. It's small, lightweight and plug and play. Be aware, you need to use a cable rated for the higher speeds to achieve them. ... show more

Love this external ssd, very fast and helps store my photos for my photo and video work I do. I love how compact it is and it's incredible speed along with it's durable construction. Though sadly after I exposed the cable to a bit of moisture it immediately broke and caused corrosion inside the cable (thankfully not the actual SSD). I did end up buying a new cable that was way faster than the factory one and I WILL RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO BUY A FAST 10GP cable it is so worth it since it made my read and writes increase by 300mb transfer. Overall love this external drive very helpful but please buy a fast data transfer cable for it to use it at it's fullest. ... show more
