I recently purchased the Samsung HW-Q800B/ZA Soundbar and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. This soundbar has exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The sound quality is absolutely fantastic, and the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technology really bring my movies and TV shows to life. The SpaceFit Sound feature is a game-changer as it automatically adjusts the soundbar's settings based on my room's acoustics to deliver the best possible audio experience. The built-in voice assistant and AirPlay 2 features also make it incredibly convenient to use. The sound bar sounds great, especially when paired with the tv and rear speakers with Q symphony. Sounds like a movie theater and even better than that sometimes. The only complaint I have is that it will not stay connected to the the tv on wifi. It will jump off it and the tv will only play if you turn off both devices. I had it happen one time just switching movies. It’s irritating. I even had an optical on it set and just playing the sound system minus the tv and it will still jump off it and try BT pairing for no reason. After some experimenting I found hooking the optical to the sound bar and playing it through that + tv seems to work every time. I’ve been testing it out for a week now and it has not let me down. ... show more

    • A worthy successor
Having had both the preceding Q800A and Q900T bars before, I had reasonable - and high - expectations of the performance of this year’s HW-Q800B. And wow, have they kept the bar raised (no pun). This two-piece setup delivers a beautifully harmonious soundstage, with Dolby Atmos tracks (movies, anyway) being spread out and distributed through the air as if they’re there. I can only imagine the optional rear speaker add-on would only complete the wraparound effect; just by itself, the channels handle markedly well. One thing that sets Samsung’s Q-series bars apart is not only their pristine upper range and dialogue handling, but the low-end has massive punch, particularly the models including the 8” subwoofer. This creates truly theater-like thunder when it’s called for, and simply makes a movie’s audio what it needs to be. It must be commented that the HDMI pass-through performance is pretty much flawless, not only with Dolby Vision and HDR, but also CEC where everything adjusts and turns off together. Especially while this model is still on sale - Buy It. It’s worth it. UPDATE: the optional rear speakers (SWA-9500S) bring on even another layer of surround-sound nuance to this soundbar. Since they, too, have up-firing speakers, the full Atmos spectrum encapsulation is complete. Bullets do, indeed, whiz past your head. It’s also on sale now. DO IT. ... show more

    • GREAT SOUND FOR A GREAT PRICE!
This is a great soundbar packed with plenty of features. For my situation I was looking for a soundbar + subwoofer without the need of rear surround speakers. I first tried the Bose 900, Sony HTA7000 and Sonos Arc which are all great sounding units. None of these units came with a subwoofer but each have compatible subwoofers for a hefty price (especially Sonos Arc). After researching the Samsung HW-Q800B I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed with the sound or the features not to mention the much more affordable price. Although it doesn't have a dedicated app it works very well with the SmartThings app. At the time of my review the unit is typically going for $750. I was able to get a brand new, unopened slightly damaged box for $451 from an Amazon Prime seller. I highly recommend this soundbar for anyone on a budget and don't need the option for rear surround speakers. The Dolby Atmos makes a big difference when walking content streaming in this format. ... show more

    • Sounds great, easy to use...
We're adding a new room and of course a new tv. This soundbar actually sounds excellent. TV dialog is clear and easy to understand, movie sound effects are incredible. The room is large with a very high ceiling and it still is easily filled with clear sound. Even music sounds good. Paired with a QN90 series TV this is a dream. Plug in the sub-woofer and turn it on, plug in the soundbar and turn it on. The sub-woofer automatically paired to the sound bar, and the soundbar automatically paired with the TV. The TV automatically detected that the soundbar is Q-Symphony capable, and switched it on. There really wasn't any configuration works for me to do! Overall the system works great and sounds great.
