This is a great soundbar packed with plenty of features. For my situation I was looking for a soundbar + subwoofer without the need of rear surround speakers. I first tried the Bose 900, Sony HTA7000 and Sonos Arc which are all great sounding units. None of these units came with a subwoofer but each have compatible subwoofers for a hefty price (especially Sonos Arc). After researching the Samsung HW-Q800B I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed with the sound or the features not to mention the much more affordable price. Although it doesn't have a dedicated app it works very well with the SmartThings app. At the time of my review the unit is typically going for $750. I was able to get a brand new, unopened slightly damaged box for $451 from an Amazon Prime seller. I highly recommend this soundbar for anyone on a budget and don't need the option for rear surround speakers. I was originally looking to purchase the top of the Samsung line HW-Q990B 11.1.4 setup, but to save some money I opted for the HW-Q800B (soundbar & Subwoofer) with the SWA-9500S (Wireless Rear Speakers). And after about two months of use, I must say that I am very satisfied! The Samsung HW-Q800B is a 5.1.2 setup out of the box, but with the added Samsung SWA-9500S wireless rear speakers, it’s upgraded to a 7.1.4 setup. I know it is not a true Dolby Atmos system without overhead ceiling channels, but the SpaceFit room correction, bass enhancement and Q-Symphony features do a really good job of simulating spatial audio by utilizing the TV speakers. Note: Q-Symphony is currently only compatible with Samsung TV (2020+ models). Final Thoughts: This is the perfect setup for someone who wants to bring a cinema experience into the living room without breaking the bank. Got this yest afternoon. Set it all up and then went straight to an action movie with Dolby Atmos. No sound at all. Broke my heart. Haha. Anyways after trying all evening to get the sound bar on the smart things app and figure it out. I gave up went to sleep. Woke the next morning and reset my Samsung Q75 tv to factory and that set me up to get the soundbar connected to the smart things app. Once that was set up I updated the soundbar and now everything is working flawlessly. For $749.00 it was hard to pull the trigger. However, when I saw this seller offering this at a Used like new condition at $439 I took a chance. The box was in great shape, all contents were in factory sealed condition...I was very impressed. The sound quality matched with the 8K Samsung 75 inch television is very crisp. With the 5.1 sound I had be told by the kids to turn it down. The bass does hit, but not to aggressive. I would say get it. ... show more

I was sketchy at first because I had nothing but problems with my first but older model of Samsung soundbar. Ended up returning it to the seller I had purchased from. The 800 model has been phenomenal. I'm no audiophile but I feel it has excellent sound quality and I really like the surround sound. Surprisingly great sound from a smaller 3.1 sound bar and subwoofer combo. It connected easily to my Samsung TV via Bluetooth in the TV menu. I did not use the E-Arc connection, but I’m still getting good sound via my Bluetooth connection. The only issue I’m seeing are no on screen volume controls. However, they appear on the front right of the sound bar itself. I’m looking forward to adding a pair of the Samsung satellite speakers designed for this system to achieve a 5.1 sound system. ... show more

The sound bar sounds great, especially when paired with the tv and rear speakers with Q symphony. Sounds like a movie theater and even better than that sometimes. The only complaint I have is that it will not stay connected to the the tv on wifi. It will jump off it and the tv will only play if you turn off both devices. I had it happen one time just switching movies. It’s irritating. I even had an optical on it set and just playing the sound system minus the tv and it will still jump off it and try BT pairing for no reason. After some experimenting I found hooking the optical to the sound bar and playing it through that + tv seems to work every time. I’ve been testing it out for a week now and it has not let me down. ... show more

Well I didn’t dislike anything. I was a little concerned about buying the sound bar in a damaged box. To my surprise the box and the styrofoam were the only thing damaged, and the sub woofer was unscathed. They both worked perfectly. So it was worth the savings of a couple hundred dollars! Yay!
