  • Great with handheld mic and bad with the lav mic
Style: Lavalier System
UPDATED. Was REALLY thrilled with this at first. But after I bought it, I read some additional online reviews that talked about the mic cutting out randomly. I had not encountered this but had not used a lot yet. I had both the lapel mic and the handheld, so I set them both to record the same signal for about 20 mins. Sure enough, looking at the wave form, the lav pack cut out for part of a second 3 times in under 20 minutes. And this was with the pace sitting 3-4 feet from the receiver with no intervening obstacles. The handheld behaved perfectly. Did the same test with my Sennheiser EW100G3 wireless lavs and my Rode Link wires lav, and they were perfect. So I have no returned the unit. Giving 3 stars because the receiver and handheld mic work great! But the lav, no so much. So if you want this only for use with the handhelds, get it! But not if you want unbroken sound from the lavs. ... show more

  • Don't lose the receiver (Also, Cheaply made)
Style: Handheld System
UPDATE My second receiver just broke. The USB port on the receiver is poorly engineered and poorly made. Don't buy this product. I'm not sure why there isn't a mic on the market (at least that I can find) that works with Bluetooth straight into a recording app. Why must be forced to buy a system that requires an intermediary piece of equipment? I bought this system and after first use, lost the receiver. Stupid me, right? But, while Samson will sell you any other part of the system, including the mic, separately, they won't seel you, and Amazon won't sell you, the receiver. Of course, humans being humans, receivers are going to get lost. But if you do that, you have to repurchase the entire system. Which I did, this one time. Because so far it's worked well for me. It should serve my purposes well. Another reason I'm giving this a one-star review is I wrote to Samson about this issue and didn't even get the courtesy of a response. Poor customer service. ... show more

  • Nice
Style: Handheld System
I got the Gomic mobile because I heard it would improve the audio quality whenever I made a video on my iphone. I also bought a second mic (this device can operate 2 wireless mics) from another store, because it wasn’t available on Amazon. Anyway test 1 was walking from table to table at a 90th birthday party for people to offer their well wishes. Worked perfect in a very noisy environment, went home, edited on imovie for a nice finished product. Next I used it to help my neighbor’s video their daughters audition for a music school. Again sounded perfect. Then my son asked to borrow it and now I can’t get it back. He is using it for all his Youtube videos and is starting what he calls an IRL show? I'd recommend because there are so many different uses. ... show more

Style: Lavalier System
I tried it inside my house and it worked fine. When I went to Venice Beach (which is a very dense urban area) and tried to film, the audio would drop out constantly and be completely unusable with the lav mic. I have not tried the handheld mic. Amazon is sending a replacement, so hopefully the new unit will work better. I will update this review when I have tested the new unit. ... show more

  • Samson Go Mic Mobile kept cutting out
Style: Lavalier System
I purchased the Go Mic to make some YouTube videos. We recorded today outside and mic kept cutting in and out. The results are unacceptable and I have sent an email to Samson to see if the problem can be resolved. I do have a number of other Samson products which I am very happy with but unless there is a solution, the quality we are getting from the mics is unacceptable and I can't continue to use the product. Yesterday I heard back from Samson who said "If you have the beltpack in a less exposed spot or more in front of the body, does this remedy the issue? This system runs on 2.4 ghz which is a a very "thin" frequency wave. Due this this waveform being so thin, it can easily be blocked by the body, walls and other obstacles of that nature." We are filming in an area that we have a lot of interferance which is why the audio keeps cutting out. I am returning the unit and will purchase another unit that runs UHF bands. I did purchase the Samson CR88V Receiver which should resolve the issue I am having. ... show more

  • Broke after 4 hours.
Style: Beltpack Transmitter Only
I'm not sure about this product due too inconsistent results from one shot to the next. I used two of these with the Samson Go Mic Receiver for a 10 minute film I shot. Sound seemed good through the head phones, and sound was real good during a few takes but then most shots and scenes came out a big mess in the editing process. I am still trying to salvage my project in editing. Also, the little wires are cheap and frail, one mic lasted 4 hours, and didn't work on the second day. Buy backup. I always buy the insurance so I did return everything. Not much else to say but I will think thrice about using this product on my next project. ... show more

  • Product Seemed to Work Fine at home, But I Was Disappointed When Using it in Public
Style: Lavalier System
The product seemed to work as advertised when I took it out of the box. I especially liked the fact that it connected effortlessly to the iPhone for recording video or audio on the phone (which is why I ordered it). Unfortunately, the manual didn't explain, clearly enough, exactly how to use the controls on the receiver. When I used the system in a public meeting, the speaker's audio, (using the lapel mic), kept dropping out even though he was within 20 feet of the receiver, making the video recording unusable. ... show more

  • Audio breaks up sometimes.
Style: Handheld System
I love that the system because it's is so versatile. The kit comes with the stick mic as well as a lav. I've only used the stick at press conferences and even though I have used two brand new ones, it is susceptible to some sort of interference. The audio suddenly drops out, sometimes for word or two, sometimes infrequently, and sometimes way too often. Customer service is excellent, they're willing to replace the mic every time, but I think the problem is in how it transmits the signal. It happens in different situations under different circumstances whether it's indoor or outdoor. The stick mic also picks up handling sounds way too much. If someone is tapping on a podium the mic picks that up as a pounding. I haven't had the opportunity to use the lavalier microphone yet. ... show more
