Installation is simple—just peel and stick, no tools necessary. The easy-to- follow yellow plastic template ensures proper alignment and secure installation every time. (Some cabinet and drawer materials, such as particle board, require the use of screws, which are included.) These ingenious locks install discreetly inside your cabinets and drawers, making them invisible from the outside to visitors. They unlock with a magnetic key that can be stored high up and out of your child’s reach. Also, for times when you need to temporarily unlock the cabinets or drawers, or for when grandparents only need to childproof during visits, you can disengage the locks during periods of non-use with the push of a button.     • Great product, not compatible with all cabinet frames
The product itself is very well made, the magnet is nice and strong, and the rounded edges are a bonus in safety for when my daughter gets a hold of any of these things. The magnet is a little finicky, and does lock by itself once in a while, and the design of the lock and its adhesive strip don't sit totally flush on the inside of our cabinet frames--but that's an issue with our cabinets, not with the product. The provided installation jig is super handy and clever, making the install very easy. So far, the locks are holding, and the magnet is responding well. If my daughter gets too strong for the adhesive, there's also the option of fastening each lock with screws. We haven't gotten there yet! ... show more

    • Expensive, but much more robust design than most
These are quite a bit more expensive than many other of the ocean of Chinese cookie cutter options available out there. But they are very well designed and have a very positive mechanical mechanism to enable or disable the lock (a button). Some of the cheap ones I see can be unreliable in this part of the behavior. This design seems like it should be very effective - it's on or it's off, and it's not going to get worn or sticky over time and start being finicky, which I've read in other product reviews. They are a big large, but not really a problem. Works excellent so far. I don't know how any of these would hold up to a 4 year old trying to rip a door open. But I just use them for an RV so the cabinets don't fly open in transit, and they work great for that. Time will tell how they hold. ... show more

These are the best option I have found for child cabinet locks, definitely worth the money. I like that there is no evidence of the lock on the outside of the cabinet face which leaves a clean looking kitchen. The locks seem to withstand a fairly sturdy tug, I have forgotten they were in place and yanked the cabinet pretty good and they did not break or let go. Having two keys is really nice so if you misplace one you are not searching forever to find it. If you do misplace both of them a strong magnet will open the lock, you don't have to wait for a new set of keys from amazon to get the cereal out of the cabinet. I also installed them myself. They were very easy to install on the cabinet doors. There is a temporary mounting bracket that makes installation and alignment a breeze. They do not work as well on drawers and will not work at all on a lazy Susan type of door. You can also turn the lock off easily so you don't have to unlock the same door 10+ times while cooking dinner, definitely a nice feature to have (nobody wants to be trying to use two hands to open a door while cutting up chicken).     • Expensive but worth it
I've tried other brands. This is the one. It costs more than most and with as many cupboards and cabinets as a lot of houses can have, you can spend a lot of money securing them this way. I started with eight, then 24. I think I'm over 50 now. They have worked on every different style in my house. I have them in six rooms. Best of all they aren't visible from the outside. And when I take them off if the adhesive leaves a mark, it will.be inside and unseen. (No idea if it will leave a mark, I'm just always worried about that.) Do take a minute to read the instructions before you install the first one. It's easy but not intuitive. In fact it looks so easy, it's hard to even consider looking at the instructions. But do. Just the first time and then you've got it. Their system for setting it in the right place is amazing and far better than any of the others brands I tried. Oh and if the baby is away for a while, it's easy to hit a button to deactivate it for the high-use spots like the kitchen garbage can. My favorite baby safety product. ... show more
