  • Excellent resource for newbies
When you are new to camping and RVs you don't know what you don't know. Just reading the table of contents in this guide is informative. The book is well organized, written in clear and friendly prose, and covers most topics a beginner needs to know. Also, the authors point readers to additional sources of information. This is a resource I'll continue to use. ... show more

  • Expected Information is Missing
We are looking to gain more knowledge about RVing and are inexperienced in the RV world. We have done years of tent camping (backpacking & car camping). We have also rented a class C a couple of times over the past 10 years. We are mostly interested in learning more about buying and using campers. This book is full of practical information about buying and using an RV or Camper. However, we are interested in renting several different types of campers before buying. We have an earlier version of RV Vacations for Dummies, which has a few pages about renting. We wanted a more up to date reference. On the back cover of this book, listed as one of the bullets under “Inside..” is “Decide whether to rent or buy” – see photos. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any information about renting. I would give the book 5 stars, if it were not for the missing information. The issue is probably the fault of the publisher, rather than the authors. ... show more

  • NEW to Rving
This Book is FANTASTIC!!!!! My wife and I are new to RVing. It was exactly what I was looking for to give a detailed overview without reading like an instruction manual. It answered all the questions that I had and touch on a lot of things I didn’t even think of. I would recommend this book to anyone who is thinking about purchasing an RV ... show more

  • Just a passing thought or your third upgrade....
The pandemic has caused many to reconsider how they want to live the rest of their lives and for many, those thoughts have included living location and style. The idea of RV or/and Camper living and/or travel has passed through many a mind, including mine. Thus when I heard that long-time online friend Chris Hodapp (along with his better half!) was doing a Dummies book on the subject, I was sold and immediately ordered both Kindle (for reading anywhere) and paperback. Early on in the book, it's suggested that even those who buy the Kindle copy should get a paperback version for their co-pilot to read/refer to. Genius! The book is filled with really good information for ANYONE even vaguely interested in this and has lots of facts, links and really great advice. The Hodapp humor shines through as well and it's a book that cannot fail to provide the 'newbie' or seasoned veteran with helpful tips, tricks, and advice. Don't wait until next year: buy this book now and maybe we'll meet out there on the highway. ... show more
