Pros: Cone shaped ceramic line guide - I believe this makes a noticeable difference in casting & retrieving. Swing wing side cover - the cover stays with the reel which eliminates losing the cover and allows quick access to the spool. This feature is typically on much more expensive reels. Magnetic brake system – nicely controls backlash during the cast. Adjusts with audible clicks. Combined with the spool tension know, allows easy adjustment to maximize very long casts. Compact design - very comfortable feel. I typically fish over 8 hours a day and this reel feel comfortable at the beginning and end of the day. Reel bag – the reel is packaged with a black reel bag; nice touch. Cons (minor): Spool tension knob - does not have audible clicks when adjusting. Magnetic knob - the indicator arrow is black, so it is very difficult to see and determine what setting/force value you are on. Retrieve handle knobs – the bearing covers are not threaded to screw onto the knobs. Instead, the covers are glued down. Thus, increasing the possibility of the covers inadvertently popping-off. Conclusion: This reel is my second purchase. I have taken the first reel on several fishing trips and it has performed very well. The customer service is excellent. The first one sent had a defect, but one call to customer service and they sent me a new one right away. Have not had no issue with it after that. I use it in saltwater and fresh and the reel works like new.

Absolutely love the reel, 2nd one I have purchased both exactly the same . I fish a lot more than a lot I have every possible rod and reel that money can buy.Lew’s, abu, shimano, u name it . Recently started fishing more than I have ever before I cannot say enough about the Runcl products .I have a spin cast reel that’s just flat awesome and now this it the 2nd bait cast reel it’s exactly the same as the 1st one. They are the very best reel I have ever purchased ….. let alone for the price they are good for anyone even if a person has never had luck with baitcasting reels. HANDS DOWN love it, can pitch without adjustments …. Put fluro 10lb line on both tighten the drag a little and let it fly. No back lashes at all I was shocked, honestly haven’t had a backlash on either of the 2 baitcasters. Will be going after more once Christmas shopping is finished for my family. AWESOME PRODUCT. Unboxing the caster I would say the company did a fair job. It came with warranty card and instructions. It's a budget friendly reel and I did not have high expectations. I have yet to fish with it but I did put it on a rod and spool it with braid. Overall it seems to cast fairly well. One thing that I did notice was the handle has some slop in it but not too bad. Again, it's a budget reel. I will see what I think after I fish with it. Update: I was able to fish with the reel and I would say it performed as expected. Not bad for the price. We will see how it holds up after multiple uses. I would compare it to the AG Black max but maybe a bit smoother. Probably due to the extra bearings. I have been buying so many different baitcasting reels for use in the surf and for hunting bass in the local park pond. The Svalla is a reel that feels great in the hand with a solid, sturdy feel. Unlike some of the other reels I have bought from Amazon lately this one feels like a nice weighted ball or something in your hand when paired with a good rod and provides a nice amount of balance. Spool is nice and smooth but the main feature on this reel is for sure the side plate that pops out and then down. Since it is attached, you don't have to worry about losing the plate and the magnets which would basically just ruin the reel. The cast control works just fine and the drags are nice and tight with clicking star tightener on the handle. Overall the reel does more than just wind in and act like a simple baitcaster and has a very fast retrieve for when I can manage to hook anything. Happy with the purchase ... show more
