  • Works great, excellent customer service
Color: C-8K Fiber Gen3/C UHS Certified (RUIPRO ... Size: 50FT
Can someone actually say Ruipro's customer service is actually 'too' good?! Read on... I did a lot of research, needing a 50 ft cable for my new home theater after moving into a new house with an existing theater. My previous theater used a 30 ft cable so the length was not a huge issue, but at 50 ft, I knew I'd be safer going with Fiber Optic. Ruipro kept popping up as one of the highest rated. Since I had to fish the cable through a conduit in the ceiling, I also figured a cable rated specifically for that purpose was also in order. Added to all that, I also wanted a cable that was certified, harder to find with Fiber Optic of this length. Ruipro checked all the boxes. So, I ordered it. It is indeed certified, confirmed through the app. The cable arrived in a sturdy box and was well packed within it. Careful instructions made sure to let us know this cable is not bidirectional. While I knew this, it seems some people do not and connect it the wrong way then have issues and blame the cable. One end is for Source (BD player, Firestick, etc.), another for Display such as TV or Projector). Good for Ruipro to spell this out clearly. I tested the cable and all was fine. I fished the cable through the ceiling and set it all up. It worked great. Good picture quality and refresh rate. Works well with my Nakamichi sound bar and Epson LS11000 projector. Blu-rays 1080 and 4K, great! I watched several movies with no issues. Now...a couple of weeks later we decided to stream a movie rather than watch one on Blu-ray. Halfway through the movie, the video blacked out for about 10 seconds while the sound was still going. It did this a few times. My heart sank. My previous home theater had a BenQ projector (my second one) which gave us enough of a hassle for me to change to Epson this time, so now having new issues and knowing it was not the projector I was like, "WHAT NOW?!" A litlle research pointed to the HDMI, which honestly is like a therapist blaming the parents but alas, I reached out to Ruipro not expecting much. I also placed an Amazon replacement order for the cable because unless I had a second cable to test against, I would not be able to tell if indeed it was the cable that was the problem. When something goes awry in a home theater, the process of elimination begins and usually starts with the HDMI cable. Lo and behold, while Amazon was already sending me a replacement, Ruipro contacted me and sent me one too! I tried to tell them not to, but could not stop it because Ruipro was THAT fast! Ruipro asked me to send the 'defective' one back for testing, which I would do. So, I got Amazon's replacement cable and tested it out. The streaming video still blacked out once in a while. Ugh. Well, at least now I knew it was not the cable. Then the Ruipro cable arrived. Now I had THREE cables sitting here. Guess what ended up being the issue? The Amazon Firestick! More research led me to test the Firestick (reboot, change HDMI ports, etc.) and then buy a new one. The new one worked with no issues and now streaming is perfectly fine. Apparently, this loss of video while audio still runs is a known Firestick issue, even though until now I never experienced it (I own two...well, three now). Good to know it is not always the parents...er...cable's fault. Thankfully, it was not the sound bar or projector, which would have been a nightmare, but it would have also made no sense since Blu-rays worked just fine. Why would streaming be the issue? Duh...it was the Firestick.... Back to Ruipro. I wrote back to Thomas at their customer service to explain it all and asked them how to return the one they sent me, which was unopened, so they could sell it. While I need to send back the Amazon replacement so as not to get charged for it, Ruipro told me to keep theirs! Wow. Bottom line: it is not always the HDMI cable. Also, and more importantly, Ruipro's customer service is fantastic. They go above and beyond, stand behind their product and care about the customer...these days, a miracle. So, they now have a lifetime customer in me, because I know should I ever have an HDMI cable issue, they'll stand behind it. Of course, don't expect you'll get a free cable from them just by yelling 'defective,' as my issue was a complicated one, and they WILL want your defective one to test it out (which ultimately helps us all), but the fact that they went above and beyond for me, that spoke volumes! And this tale ended well. ... show more

  • Really phenomenal cable
Color: A-8K Fiber Gen3/C Size: 85FT
This cable saved my butt. Did a large basement remodel, but used regular cables through the finished ceiling. I had so much going on with the remodel I didn’t think about it. But needed a high speed cable, but because the ceiling was finished I now needed to run a 75’or longer cable to get the job done. Wanted full Dolby Vision quality. Got this cable and it’s flawless! Tried it run on the ground for a week to test before running it around the unfinished side. It’s been several years now and it’s still working flawlessly. Running 4K at 120hz Dolby Vision. ... show more

  • Support is top notch! Just be sure to test the cable thoroughly before running through wall.
Color: A-8K Fiber Gen3/C Size: 85FT
Purchased the 85ft 48Gbps HDMI for my new Office/Movie room. Needed to run a line through the walls from one side of the room to the other so I can play my PC games on my entertainment center. Hooked up the HDMI before running it through the wall and my shield connected straight to my TV. Ran it through the wall and tested again and it still worked. 1st mistake I made was to not test PC to TV connection. For some reason the cable I got wouldn't do that. Made sure I had the source/Display plugs the right way around still no picture. The PC wouldn't even recognize anything's plugged in. I then reached out to RUIPRO support and they within an hour late at night CST they had started troubleshooting with me. They decided that a new cable was the fix. I obviously was a bit bummed since I had already ran it through the wall but if it works I can't argue with it. With the holidays it took a day or two longer to get to me but they shipped me a brand new one for free and it worked. No questions asked just proof that I purchased a cable and they shipped me a new one. The cable works perfectly. I was able to play my PC games in 4k120Hz from across the room on my TV with 0 issues. I would just highly recommend testing the exact purpose you bought the cable before running through walls... ... show more

  • Unreliable. Bought 2, installed in a hard to get place, one failed at 14 months, and the other 16.
Color: A-8K Fiber Gen3/C Size: 33FT
No, I didn't bother with warranty, and I won't be trying it out. Two failing so close together makes me believe I'd be digging out the new pair another year down the road. No thanks, I'll go with another brand this time. I got the 33' set, at the end of 2020 when hdmi 2.1 was like the frikkin new frontier. These were the only cables on amazon over 15ft that had *actually been confirmed* to work properly. I only needed one high bandwidth cable -- One for PC, and the other is for the switch so I could've used just about any old $10 cable. But the routing is rather a pain, part of it behind my fireplace and requiring minor construction to access, so-- I thought myself being SUPER PREPARED by getting 2 of the ultra bandwidth cables, so if one ever failed, I could just switch to the other - limiting myself to only one input, but at least ensuring I wouldn't lose capabilities. And just over a year down the road, boom- one of the cables just zonked. No throughput at all, any source, end of sentence. I thought, "damn, me! I'm a genius for preparing for just this dire circumstance!" But alas, my self-congratulatory smug lasted only another month or so before the 2nd one followed suit. To be fair, these did work quite well - Used primarily for 4k/120hz VRR+UHD content (pc), and it did a lovely job. Until it didn't and I had go cable spelunking :( Here's hoping the big well known cable brand (which now has an active 2.1 certified cable available for less than this one) lasts a little longer, but hey - if not, at least Ruipro gave me some practice pulling my fireplace apart, right? :D ... show more
