  • CERTIFIED QUALITY: Oil Plus 2C contains 0% VOC and does not contain water or solvents. Our oil is therefore safe to use on wooden toys (EN 71-3), complies with food contact regulations and is free of harmful substances for indoor use (Eurofins).

Description

Oil Plus 2C is a hardwax oil wood protector that colors and protects in only 1 single layer! Using advanced molecular bonding, it protects wood from water, heat and daily wear; tear. It is the best oil for wood furniture, hardwood flooring, tables, and just about anything made out of wood! Available in 55 standard colors Enhances the natural look and feel of the wood. 0% VOC, does not contain any water or solvents. Easy to maintain a natural wood finish because the oil is made of linseed. No overlaps or starting marks. Minimal use/High coverage: 300 - 500 ft²/L. Can be applied to almost all wood types. Great wear, water and heat resistance. Very fast curing: 80% in 2 days. A short maintenance period: after 5 days, the surface can be cleaned with water and Rubio Monocoat Soap. Pure is non-pigmented. Natural is pigmented with yellow/white tones.

First I need to say, for anyone wanting to use this product, pay attention to the videos and the process. This is a plant based product. Some have complained about it ruining anything it touches. It cleans up perfectly fine with mineral spirits. Only mix what you can use immediately. We used a farm syringe for mixing the 2 parts, in small batches and it does go a very long way. You can use a rag, sponge roller or squeezy to apply, just depends on your project size. We did use the squeezy for the drawer faces. We are using a foam roller on the larger surfaces. One thing I really like is being able to do a part and come back the next day or even a week and finish the project. Once we finish I will come back and load up some photos of the finished product. We are doing 2 coats on walnut counter tops. Yes this is a single coat. We decided after watching some YouTube videos of professional woodworkers on the double coat process. This product isn't designed to store after you mix it. Use right away. Clean your materials right after use with mineral oil. The smell of the product isn't terrible, smells like various squash or maybe pumpkin when it's raw. We don't have any complaints so far, excellent product that feeds the wood, is food and people safe. Does take some effort such as buffing to get the sheen. It is a matte finish. Not cheap but so worth the money. I watched some videos on how to finish my table. What I like best is the fact that if you have gone over one area with this product the wood is saturated and if you go over it again it will not take anymore, therefore you will need very little. It is a two component finisher but if you run out of the second you can still use number one alone it just takes longer to set ... show more

Application is super easy and it came out better than I had expected. The premium price is well worth the investment on a project.

The media could not be loaded. So I'm torn about this product. Everyone said a little goes a long way, but I had to mix up several small batches to get my table covered. I'm assuming that's because I figured it would go farther than I anticipated. Over all the mixing and applying is easy, it smells awful, but the color came out as I expected, or hoped I should say. The black gave my monkeypod table a dark walnut finish which is what I was going for. I'm just going to assume that my struggles were operator error and had nothing to do with the product. Get more than you think you'll need. That's for sure. I got the smallest bottle and it did what I needed it to do and I have a little left over. Rather too much than run out.
