My husband searched for quite some time before we purchased this chair. #1 it had to be light enough and easy enough for me to be able to lift it and get it in and out of the car for him. I’m 72 years old, and I am able to do that. #2 it needed to have a good battery, and having the gage on it so you can see the battery level makes that perfect. At first, he kind of wanted to be able to lift one arm up to make it easier to get in and out from some situations, and he found he could remove one screw to be able to do that, but it made folding it and putting it in the car a lot more awkward (as it flopped around) and we ended up putting the screw back in and he really doesn’t have any problem with it. If possible, his only thought was he wished it were about 3-4 inches higher, because he can stand long enough to turn and drop into a seat and this model is a lot lower to the ground, making sitting down a little harder and getting up even more difficult-but we realize making it higher/taller would also add more weight and make it harder to get into the car/hatch. Before this purchase, he had a Rollator type chair with no motor and I had to push him, so we find this much better, along with being light enough for me to lift. The media could not be loaded. The wheelchair is not working because the battery or the battery charge (or both) are defective

    • THIS CHAIR HAS BEEN A LIFESAVER!!
Wow … this chair has changed my my life, by giving me the mobility and independence I’ve needed and wanted. Easy assembly, easy to use, and easy to fold up when not in use. Though a bit awkward to maneuver when lifting it, at only 30 lbs, I’m able to lift it into and out of my car without help. Since the battery needs to be removed in order to charge it, I often just pop the battery out and leave the chair locked up in my car. Take the battery into the house and charge it up for my next adventure. Having this chair has also freed my husband up from having to drive me to appointments, because my chair and I can make the long distance from the parking area to the hospital or store; whereas he used to have to drive me to drop me off at the main entrance. I ordered a wheelchair seat cushion but didn’t need it. The chair is comfy enough. The only downside is that there is nowhere to put anything, and you have to try putting things on your lap. For $12, tho, i ordered a nice holder that clips with velcro onto the arm of my chair; and it’s plenty big enough for my coffee, cell phone, book, pens, makeup, you name it. I can’t say enough good about this electric wheelchair. I absolutely LOVE it .. I think you will too!! ... show more

    • So far it has been great
We got this for my 94 year old mom and at first it was a little scary for her but we worked with and now she uses it a lot more easily. She still mostly uses her walker but having the chair makes it possible for her to go places that might have seemed like too much trouble before. It is amazingly maneuverable and the ability to transport it is a huge plus. Also it folds up so it doesn't take up to much space in her apartment. The folks at Rubicon were really helpful (getting us a new battery when it arrived with a dead one and giving us pointers over the phone on how to operate it). She's only had it about 2 months so we really can't speak to battery life but with everything else we've been impressed. ... show more

    • Lite weight and east to fly with.
I bought this for my wife who has MS. We went on a cruise and it was great. Easy to fly with at the gate I remove the battery and airline puts it under the plane with the luggage I carry the battery with me to my seat. Very lite and easy to use best purchase I have made.
