I ordered these because they were the right size to use as rubber feet on my air compressor. The completely eliminated vibration and noise coming from the base of my compressor. I cannot comment on using them for a muffler on exhaust as that is not what I used them for. My muffler dropped where it's welded to the straight pipe and as I removed the old ones they were a really soft rubber. These are hard as can be so I might have to heat up the metal to replace.

    • Exhaust on old SUV was rattling around, now it doesn't.

They were not kidding about these being "high density". They are a good deal heavier and tougher than the rubber hangers they replaced. My SUV had a section of the exhaust with a catalytic converter and a resonator that was starting to rattle whenever I put the gas pedal down. The existing hangers were old and a bit loose. These cleared that right up. A little spritz of penetrating oil on the post made it easy to take the old ones off and put the new ones on. I also used a pair of exhaust hanger removal pliers (available at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V1JR5V9), which made taking the old ones off a breeze. ... show more

These exhaust hangers are nicely made. They are dense enough to provide proper support and flexible enough to allow for a little movement and ease of install. The media could not be loaded. When twisted they don't feel overly stiff or prone to crack. The rubber is pliable. They can be easily cut with a hot knife and used for spacers. I am using them to mount an aftermarket fuel tank on my Enduro. They come four in a pack. I looked around for rubber spacers but could not find anything to fit my application.
