As with many Chinese knockoff items, there is a price to be paid for paying less online. I have seen these types of stools in retail stores and liked them, but the price was about the same for one stool in the store than for two stools on Amazon, so I decided to pull the trigger on the Amazon stools. The online stools are of decent quality for the price. Not sure how long they will last. Eventually, the compression seals will leak and the stools will either have to stay in the lower position, or the seat will slowly go down as you sit at the bar (but maybe you won't notice it if you are imbibing). The main issue I found is that there was no ergonomic design put into these stools. The foot rest is way too small and may work well for a Chinese person with short legs and tiny feet, but for me (and I am not tall), sitting for any length of time using the footrest becomes uncomfortable. And if you do not have shoes on, good luck using the footrest at all. The footrest is too small in diameter and does not extend out far enough from the post, so you need to maintain a tight angle at the knee to use the footrest and constantly try to prevent your foot from slipping off. I am thinking of getting some round foam to place on the footrest to see if that makes any difference. Or maybe sticking Velcro on the footrest and wearing wool socks might do the job. ... show more

My husband and I were looking for some modern looking stools at a very good price... These definitely fit the bill. We are very happy with them. However, I know I didn't buy the highest quality so my review is based on that. If you'd like to know the nitty gritty, here goes: The ink from any dark pair of pants rubs off on the white faux leather. I can easily wipe it off with a Clorox (or off brand) disinfectant wipe. Most of the ink comes right off. Also, the air lift is more pressurized on one stool and the other is less pressurized. Also, only a few days after having them, I could see the four heads of the bolts that attach the seat to the chrome support under the faux leather. A lot of people say they are uncomfortable to sit in after about 30 minutes... I don't know if I agree, but I'm also a small person so that may be why. I'd say that's the sum of our experience. Overall, I'm very happy... If I had paid more than approx $35 for each stool, I would be unhappy but you get what you pay for and good quality stools are extremely expensive. ... show more

Pros: Lightweight to move around, even our 3 yr old can move it as needed. It spins around easy for the kids on the island and when I'm doing my daughter's hairstyles. Cons: It is neither sturdy nor comfortably wide enough for adults. One of the two stools we got has squeaked since the first day and we've tolerated it for now almost 2 years. It is extremely annoying. Only our kids sit on these and as you know kids move a lot which makes meal time very irritating with all the squeaking. ... show more

I really like these chairs. They look phenomenal. The assembly was a breeze and they are very comfortable. The only drawback is that I wish they were heavier. Sometimes they seem off balance. You get what you pay for, I like the chairs and was thinking about picking up some more. I use them as shop chairs for my workbenches. Some people have complained about the little rubber fitting that goes on the bottom coming off and scratching their pretty floors....why are they buying "discount" chairs then or glue it when it comes off the first time? Hasn't happened yet to me but I'll just tape the bottoms if it's a problem. I have had some issues as the days progress with the hydraulics having problems and sinking after I sit in the chair. I don't think it's a seal issue since it's not every time. I believe it to be a spacing/design issue and there is an external mechanical explanation...I just haven't been frustrated enough with it to fix the design since it is still only happening periodically. I bought four of these for our not so large breakfast bar because of their small size, and they fit perfectly. They tuck easily under the overhang, and the bases are small enough that people don't trip over them when walking by the area. They were easy to assemble, all 4 work as they should. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because of the petroleum smell that permeated our house for weeks after getting them. I finally put them outside for a week to air them out, and the smell seems to have disappeared. (At least no one is commenting on it anymore when they come over, we apparently had become immune to it.) They are comfortable for short sitting times, but because they don't really have any type of supportive back, I cannot personally sit in one for more than half an hour. ... show more

I was a little worried when I saw the photo...I figured they can't be as good as they look...but wow, these are pretty much perfect. My 8 year old son opened the box and pulled the pieces out and I was stunned...there were 5 pieces per stool -- base, lever, pole that does the rising, base of seat and the seat. I figured we were missing parts. But literally, all you have to do is screw in 4 screws using the included allen wrench, pop the base into the level and you are good. It took about 3 minutes per chair. They wiped clean (although they came packaged perfectly clean). They are heavy and won't tip over, the photo is exactly what they look like - shiny chrome, white vinyl seats. My son LOVES them. They can pass for modern or vintage 60's style, depending on your decorating taste. I still can't believe we got these for $65 total WITH shipping. I can't recommend these enough. Get them. I was looking for an inexpensive modern bar stool for our very sleek styled kitchen. These fit the look perfectly and were a great price. They are very stable on the wood floor and my mother-in-law in her 60's said they were comfortable. In addition, my 6 year old thinks they are fun to play on despite not being heavy enough to make them go down. I used Amazon Prime and got them in two days as promised with no issues. My only gripe is that some of the seats came with some spots on them. I was able to get everything off expect for one sticky spot about the size of my pinky finger. I am still working on that. These aren't the highest quality bar stools, but I think they are terrific for the price. Whenever people visit, I always get lots of compliments on them. They were super easy to put together. My only complaint is that I ordered two sets of 2, and each set had a different handle, so the four chairs do not match! Two are black and two are silver. Be aware of this if you are ordering more than two. I know I could have probably returned one set, but clearly it would have been hard to specifically request a matching pair to the ones I kept. These chairs are just too easy to assemble. They are a lovely pure white, not off white or ivory masquerading as white, which was a relief. I can see the bases getting smudged very easily, but a microfiber cloth would take care of that. The stools seem sturdy enough for my 125 lb, but I do find that they sink about two inches when I sit down and remain fixed in that position after I stand up. In my experience, the airlift function should make the seat give a little when you sit, but return to the set height once the weight is removed. I'll have to monitor how this holds up over time as I use them for dining at my kitchen counter/bar and for guest seating. ... show more

Ordered 2 sets. The first one seems fine although the counter stools are not of great quality. The second set came with a tear in one of the seats. Noticed the tear after the assembly. It's a hassle to disassemble and return the package. Tried to react seller via the product support information, but the phone number does not seem to be operational. Easy to put together and works like a charm. At first the pumps to adjust the height of the stools weren't working, but I wasn't too mad because they were cheap and was a good height for the bar table I got (which it goes perfectly with by the way: Roundhill Furniture Adjustable Height Wood and Chrome Metal Bar Table, Black ). They're comfortable and I love them a lot. My one little minor annoyance is one of the seats has an imprint of the base on it. I bought this a month ago and the circle imprint is still slowly coming out. Other than that, these are a perfect addition for my studio apartment! ... show more
