I love this lamp but not the shade. The lamp is black with a slight sheen to it. The tube in the middle, which is the nightlight, is made of frosted glass. The manufacturer provides the bulb for the top of the light as well as the night light bulb. There are two switches at the bottom of the lamp which allow you to turn on the lamp by itself, turn on the night light by itself or turn on both. As to the lampshade, this lamp comes with a lamp shade that is medium gray in color, definitely to the slightly darker side. It has to be put together using the two white forms that come with it. The lampshade isn't difficult to put together but it is flimsy and looks cheap, hence the reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. ... show more

For the price point these lamps are ok and are perfect for my living room. Putting them together was easy as long as you do not refer to the instructions. The instructions were not good. The lampshade are very flimsy and had black and red spots on them. The night light is a nice feature.

These lamps are very well made. So glad i bought them. The lampshades were a little tricky to build but once you figure out the first one the second is easy. I love the night light.
