We needed space for our guests and to conduct our homeschool sessions. This bed has been wonderful in freeing up space to teach our kids during the week. Everyone has loved it so far! It took my husband about two days to put it together but he did it a few hours at a time. He said it wasn't too hard to do. We flanked it with some Billy bookshelves from IKEA and it looks almost built in. We had to get some longer bolts to drill into the studs in our wall but other than that, that's the only thing more we needed to finish the bed off. We have our 12" thick queen Tempur-pedic with a mattress topper on it and it shuts just fine. Our little kids 5 and 7 can't reach it to pull it down, so we aren't too worried about it falling on them either. In case you are worried about that. And we have very mischievous kids. ... show more

Love the price.i you see, they don't make twin Murphy beds in real wood .I had to other beds like this,but made of compressed wood.and if you turn the screw to much. The wood would bust .and I would lose a lot of money. This bed is the one for me.one thing.if your putting it together. Don't use a power tool to put the alley bit with the drill. Do everything as it says.and you will be fine. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It is made of decent wood and I think will be a very good extra bed for our family comes home. We liked the fact that we could have a thicker mattress. We bought a 12 inch memory foam mattress and that will fit great. My husband is very handy but to give you a heads up he has at least seven hours into putting it together. He did most of it alone, there were a few things I helped him hold and getting it set up to the wall. The stepladder is there because he’s fastening it to the wall right now. He was pleased with the instructions, they were quite thorough. The only thing I’m not impressed with is little white sticky dots that cover the screw holes where they are countersunk but I can live with that. we were very limited on space to have an extra bed so this was perfect answer and we looked at many Murphy beds and the “buffet” style look online and in furniture and this one met our needs and at at decent price point. ($899 + tax). I added the video a little later and a photo of the “snooze test”! We wish we would have had room for a queen size but the full size will do for most of our needs.We love it! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We have received our bed and are putting it together. Be aware it says it requires 3 people and directions are long. Also know that while it takes time, the company will respond to emails if you have questions. Ok! Here is a video showing exactly how the bed looks and operates. Our ceilings in the guest room are only 8 ft so assembling and positioning something that is this heavy and 7ft tall was challenging. We are so beyond happy with the results though! The bed is simple to open and close and feels very sturdy and secure. We did attach the bed to the studs in our walls for security. Be aware that you will have to remove moulding on the part of the wall that the bed will be attached to. End result is great and we are very happy with our purchase! ... show more

    • Putting it together is a chore

I ended up getting three bids to assemble the bed, two were $350. I trusted the lowest bid and it took forever to finish. He didn’t use parts because I wanted it to go into a stud. I ended up paying $400. I still haven’t had anyone sleeping on it. Finding a mattress was a pain.
