I built one of the ROKR magic pianos and loved it so much, I decided to tackle the world! I have to admit that the instructions can be murky but if you have a tad of mechanical knowledge and common sense, you can get through it. The bass wood is strong and printed very nicely. I would suggest that you have super glue on hand to reinforce some areas and repair minor breaks. There are videos online if you get stuck. This is my 12th or so wooden kit and one of the most enjoyable. The quality of the plywood and especially how it was precut was the best so far. I broke NO pieces. All of the pieces removed easily and there was no splintering. Placing the map pieces took some time though. Rokr gives you 2 methods incase you have problems. It is advertised as a "night light product, and the map serves as a decoration." It is powered by a USB Micro cord, which is supplied. There is also an on/off switch. The wheel in the base turns the globe and the wheel just below the globe turns the magnifier so you can zoom in on the map. This is a high quality product. ... show more

My daughter loves Lego sets and other projects so we got this for her for Christmas. She had a few things that she asked for help with and it took longer than the suggested time, but she is only 12 and it is rated for 14+. Overall it is a very neat product. Only 1 piece broke during assembly because she put it on upside down and it broke when taking it apart again to correct it. With a little gorilla glue it was good as new and the piece wasn't an integral part of the finished product so you'd never know it was fixed.     • Requires gentle, yet strength to assemble
I was super excited to receive this item because it claims to light up and turn in multiple ways, however assembly was a pain! Assembly of this product was so painstaking, I ended up having a couple of dented finger nails, some splinters, and a bunch of broken and scratched up skin. This item requires a lot of finger strength, yet it requires gentle assembly. There are certain parts during assembly where it requires me to gently slide in one part, yet push it in with force. the longitudinal wood pieces came in 12 pieces, but to assemble, it must fit into 5 different slots. I broke about 9 little slots in 9 difference pieces. The instructions were all pictures, but certain parts of the instruction must be studied in detail!!! I studied certain steps and was confident; turned out, I was wrong and had to break it apart which caused more broken wooden pieces. The last part, one of the pieces didn't come fully cut, so when I pushed a piece in, it snapped. Overall, if this item I assembled was not examined in detail, nobody would see any of the cracks. I like what I assembled and it did turn out great, but I refuse to ever do this again! and it wont turn! I waxed the pieces that required waxing, but as hard as I try to turn the knobs, the globe wont turn! If I force, it'll turn a little bit, but I feel like it might break! ... show more

I thoroughly enjoyed building this puzzle. Take your time with it and make sure to sand and wax. It looks great and it's not overly expensive.

This was a difficult build to be sure. But I love all of the builds by ROKR. I’ve done quite a few now. The hardest part is the beginning of the globe. But it’s so cool and such a nice pretty warm light.

Yeah so, you get this box with all the wood pieces but they are so fragile. I broke 3 pieces at step 1 and there's no way to fix them. Stay away from this wooden puzzle! Why can't this be plastic? Or why can't they make the pieces fit better together? This is an expensive wooden piece of trash. Don't buy! ... show more
