I am pleased with this storage rack. It fits into my closet and holds a lot of items (in addition to shoes, I have bins of scarves, bras, and slippers.). I am so very grateful that I read some of the reviews before trying to assemble it. It wasn't hard to do, but the instructions are NOT helpful. All they show are a few pictures that are hard to read. My most important tips: - Assemble one layer at a time; You must slip the plastic shelf liners in place before you construct each layer. Once it is assembled, there's no way to attach them without taking it apart. - I made two mistakes by mistaking the four-hole and eight-hole side bars. In the long run, it worked out okay, but keep in mind the four-holes are used on the outside of each layer and the eight-holes are used as interior pieces. - As you attach each layer, check to be sure the top is level. I didn't actually use a level (although you could), but eyeballing it and adjusting one layer at a time was much easier than waiting until the end. This was a good purchase for me. ... show more

    • Worth the price
This shoe rack is worth the price. It is easy to assemble, the poles are metal, the rack is attractive, and it's sturdy. The rack is lightweight, so a toddler could pull it over, but it is so lightweight that it wouldn't hurt! A person could anchor this to the wall if a toddler is a concern. The instructions are confusing as people have said, but basically, step 1 of the instructions is saying to assemble all of the racks first. Assemble 3 short racks with only the cross bars to hold shoes. Next, assemble 3 long racks with one side only cross bars, and on the other side, cover the cross bars with the decorative plastic sheeting. Lastly, assemble 2 long racks with both sides covered in plastic sheeting. Then, look at the final step with a picture of the finished product shown, and you'll be able to make sense on how to assemble it. I used our rubber mallet that we have for camping to lightly pound the poles into their connectors, and it worked great. There is a wooden mallet provided with the kit. Bought this for my teenage son's room and easily assembled it in about 45 mins. Fit about 15 pairs or so of mens size 13 shoes (mostly sneakers, some slides & a pair of Crocs) with no problem. Could fit more, but he's particularly about his good sneakers so some were racked one-to-a-shelf. Appreciated the additional side hooks which I hadn't noticed when I purchased it. Great for hanging a few hats and possibly a hoodie or 2. Wish it were slightly heavier on the bottom, but once loaded with shoes, it felt more stable. Will likely settle into the carpeted floors better over time. Great inexpensive solution for ridding the floor of shoes and freeing up living space. ... show more

Bought this because shoes were all over our mudroom floor. Got tired of tripping on them. Pros: Easy to put together, fairly sturdy. Great value for the price. Cons: What the directions don't tell you is the flaps that come with it should be laced through the sticks while putting it together. Yes, you can lay them over but they fall. Decided not to use them anyway. Other con is it is black plastic. Not horribly attractive. But the price was right to at least see how this would work in our space. May be on the lookout for the future to find something more attractive. ... show more
