Assembly was not difficult, but it was time-consuming, and I was working alone. The wooden hammer provided was perfect for the job. Adding the PVC fabric to some sections was challenging, but doable. Even though the portions of the structure that the metal rods fit into our plastic, I only had one that I felt my not as sturdy. However, when I got it all together, it is very sturdy! I purchased this shoe rack for my 11 yr old son to store his shoes and lego bins. Although there's many parts, I was able to assemble it in about 30 mins and no tools were needed. It's a fairly sturdy product and definitely worth the $25. It's perfect for maximizing space in a small room.

This shoe rack looks nice on Amazon but when you get it, it was the biggest pain I've ever experienced putting something together. While the sheets over the end poles may look nice, trying to fit the end pieces together with it is so beyond frustrating. The poles would not line up well and even when trying to hammer down the connectors, the wooden mallet broke (after I had already accidentally snapped an edge off of a connector. The plastic is super flimsy and the poles are a thicker plastic, definitely not metal. The instructions were a tad confusing on which length poles to use and ended up having to switch them because the letters and numbers seemed jumbled up together making it more difficult than it needed to be. The hooks are rounded obviously and the end pieces are squared so the fit of the hooks isn't very stable like they would if they went on something more fit for them. Once it was all assembled, it felt very wobbly and even after putting shoes on it, still felt quite unstable. This just doesn't seem durable unless all of your shoes are quite light weight. I don't really see this lasting but we shall see. Overall, it's cheap so I didn't REALLY expect the quality of this to be all that great but it does as it's intended, holds shoes. Just don't put heels on the racks without the cover because they will just fall. Looks nice but certainly cheaply produced. ... show more

Needed somewhere to out all my extra bags/shoes and this fit perfect in my hallway closet. I set it up myself in 23 mins definitely need to pay attention when setting up. I opened the package and set every piece in order so i would not get confused I used the product picture since it was easier than the instructions but thats just me. I'm going to be as detailed as possible in my review to save others time when putting it together and why I dinged them a star. I'm a 57 yr old female. I put this together myself in less than an hour. Approx 50 minutes from the time I took everything out of the box. I organized the parts (pics) and made sure they were all there. I looked over the instructions. They kind of suck, so I looked at the picture online and went by that mostly after the initial piece was built. I referred to the instructions to make sure I got the vertical rods on the right correct for the bottom, then repeated that afterward. Once I got the 1st part of rack done (pic) it was easy just to mimic it building upward. All short rods all the way up the left outside and the center rods are the same size. Horizontal rods are all the same size. Make sure you put the mats on as you build. Use the wooden mallot included after assembling each section to make sure rods are in tight. I also checked and pushed them together manually after I was done to make sure everything was tight. I'm glad I did because some areas needed it. The rack is super lightweight. I carried it into the garage after assembling it in the living room. My husband wears size 11 shoes. I wear 9. They all fit just fine. It saves a lot of space. I wished I would have taken a before pic of my shoe area. This freed up a lot of space for me and solved the mess of shoes and looks much better. I dinged them a star because one of the plastic mats ripped (pic) while assembling it. Overall, it works and looks good. Is it excellent quality? No. The mats are plastic. But for $26 it's works as it should. I would not pay any more for it though. I hope this review helps ... show more
