  • Don't know why I waited so long to buy
Very happy with this bike rack. I also purchased the one bike add-on. All works seamlessly. I can easily lift and connect the bike rack to the trailer hitch and remove by myself. (Reference I'm 5'4" 120#). I can also take it on and off when it is a 3 bike rack, but the 3 set up is really too heavy for me. It requires another person. This style works great with kids bikes (ours are frame size 20"+) and women's bikes. Love the ease of loading/unloading the bikes. The integrated locks work great too. Love that the rack tilts up and out of the way when empty. Bikes are very secure. Minimal movement on the road. So much better than the trunk assembly with the add-on bar and a separate cable lock!! Definitely worth the money. ... show more

  • Everything I was looking for
I read many reviews on all different types and brands of bike racks before deciding to go with the Dual Split. Main reasons I went with this choice - Easy of loading the bikes - No need for the extra accessory bar - Integrated bike and hitch locks - Once I figured out how to use them, which was not overly complicated, I’m comfortable running into a store on my way home from the trails. - Ability to add on for up to four bikes. This was pretty big for me. In my initial setup I only needed it for two and wanted to make sure it held up to the hype. Eventually I added the extra bike addition when my husband decided to join us on our adventures and it was simple to add. - Access to the hatch of my SUV with or without the bikes attached. Works flawlessly. With two bikes I can easily tilt down for access. Three bikes, I recruited my husband for the task because it does become quite heavy. Cons - *Note these are not enough to reduce my rating, but noteworthy if you’re a newbie to bike racks like me.* Check to make sure everything is still tight every couple of weeks. I’ve found a couple of spots That I needed to tighten with my Allen wrenches after about eight weeks of use. Bikes we use - Marlin 7 Large, Verve 2 Medium, Dual Sport 1 Small. All fit without touching or needing to adjust the base. We have also configured multiple other friends bikes without issue. ... show more

  • Love this rack
Great rack. Super stable, easy to take on and off, the tip back option so yo can open the rear hatch is key. Liking it so far. Quality product for the $$.

  • MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE
WELL MADE. EASY TO ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL FOR SURE. EVERYTHING IS SOLID AND NO RADDLES. NEEDED TO ORDER EXTENSION TO WORK WITH REAR MOUNTED TIRE ON JEEP. I COULDN'T FIND ANY INFO ON THAT UNTIL I REVCIEVED THE PRODUCT BUT I WAS EASILY ABLE TO ORDER WHAT I NEEDED FROM ROCKY MOUNTS.

  • Not great, not terrible
I was looking for a solid bike rack that could be expanded to hold 3-4 bikes. I wanted something that would not break the bank. Cons: 1. Metal shavings in the threads made assembly annoying 2. The rack doesn’t fit my bikes well. If the hook that covers the tire cold be easily rotated it would help. 3. The “lock” can be cut with a pair of cheap wire snips. Why not have a lock that immobilized the bar over the tire. Pros: 1. Love he bracket fit mounting on y wall when not in use. This was smart. 2. The hitch pin assembly makes this rack nice and snug. I’m not sure if I would buy this again it I’m not going to return it. It’s better than my Allen rack but not by a lot….and it was quite a bit more expensive. ... show more
