  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Amp works great, shipping and refund was slow.
This is my third purchase of this exact amp. The two I put in my boat several seasons ago work great. LOVE the PA system, awesome bonus feature for my tower speakers. Bought this 3rd one for my buddy’s boat and ordered it plenty of time before the install technician came out. Unfortunately the amp didn’t arrive by their own due date, so we had to go purchase local at the last minute. Processed the return and even though I’m Amazon prime, this was not returned the same as everything else I buy. I had to request return approval from the seller, then wait for a shipping label. Sent the item back and it took weeks to get my refund. Had to send them a message to get them to do it. Minus two stars. To their credit, they did acknowledge my request and promptly processed my refund so adding back star. But still…shouldn’t have to babysit my refund. When the receiving department checks the product in, the return should be processed. Makes me wonder if I ever would have got a refund if I didn’t follow up on it. Bottom line…this is a great amp that more than does the job. It runs x4 6x9’s, and x2 51/4’s. The other one powers a 12” sub and x4 tower speakers. Way more than a 22’ boat will ever need. Doesn’t win any contests, but I’m also not competing. We didn’t use any of the fuses that came with it. We installed some easily accessible breakers under the seat. Looking back that was a great call because they have tripped several times. Can’t imagine having to crawl in the engine hatch and pull apart their little fuse thing and replace the fuse. The breaker trips, let it rest for a half hour, then back in business. We work these amps hard. The music is cranking non stop. I highly recommend the amp, just not a fan of their return process. But in the end they came through so all is well. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars For the price. Whole lot of power!
I friend bought one and i also bought one. On mine the ch2 speaker out was crackling. I was able to bridge it and get good sound so i am not worried. On my friends his ch4 speaker out does not work and the mic does not work. He bridged his ch 3&4 and it is fine. Other than that we like it.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Sounds fantastic!
Purchased this amp for my 1986 Celebrity Ski Boat. Already had a Sony head unit installed but the sound was minimal on the water. I bought this amp and installed it. And FYI wiring in the high level input ( the small multi colored pigtail) is definitely worth it. Got out to the water, hit our hangout spot, cranked it up and could hear it crystal clear! Oh and if you do the high level input, do yourself a favor and go buy the 18/8 wire from Lowes or home depot. It's 18 gauge wire with 8 wires inside a weather and oil resistant sleve. You don't need 16 gauge or lower for the wires from the radio to the amp ( and yes to use the high level input you will need to run those wires since they are your speaker output). Radio sends the signal and the amp will do the rest. It's currently pushing (8) 6.5 inch marine kicker speakers. Hands down if and when this thing goes out I will be buying another. I will say as with all marine grade electrical components make sure you coat your contact points ( used or not) with a electrical grease. I use Sil-Glyde for all contacts marine or automotive to keep them from rusting and coroding up causing a good day to turn bad real quick. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty decent
I have to say it seems well built. This is one of those you get what you pay for. It kind of gets your attention when you see "1600w" as we all know its at peak and only for a second. Unfortunately this is not one of those amps but its pretty decent for 89 bucks so you can't really complain. I have it pushing 4 Kickers and its just ok for me nothing spectacular but it gets the job done considering its for marine use and you really don't have a huge amount of options. The mic is pretty fun, you can scare your friends as you make a complete idiot of yourself! You can bridge your speakers and or have 2 channels left and right and one sub with the built in crossover which is pretty nice. You will need your own wiring for power. I suggest a good 4-6 gauge wire. It only comes with the high input connecting wires (plug to input of original speaker wires) use when no RCA is available If you have multiple amps you can pull off your current RCA's run through this amp and then back out as it has 4 inputs and then 2 to return back out again. If you have any questions feel free to ask I can help walk you through it. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value and Powerful AMP
This AMP is well designed for easy, straight foward installation. Comes with RCA and standard wiring connection points. Output uses lock bolt wire anchoring system to eliminate possible shorts/disconnections. Installation and tuning instructions are well written and easy to understand. FOLLOW the tuning instructions regarding the "Gain" feature. It doesn't need to be turned to the MAX setting and your speakers probably aren't rated for this amount of power. This AMP produces sufficient power to amplify four speakers and a subwoofer at a level of dB sufficient to rattle the windows in your car/truck/boat. Ignore the naysayers. This product is well packaged, arrived undamaged, and worked perfectly because I FOLLOWED THE INSTALLATION INTRUCTIONS. Take 5 minutes, read the instructions and you will be satisfied with this product's performance and sound amplyfing capabilities. I am completely satisfied with this product and would repurchase. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars nice price but not that great
Althought the price is great it only sounds great for a limited time. I only have 4 6.5 inch speakers and 1 10inch bazooka sub bridged. I wouldn't think it would overheat at all from the seller videos but just playing at moderate levels it overheats and shuts off. It's mounted in a spacious compartment with ventilation and still overheats after about an hour of use. Have to turn the head unit off for a little while and restart way too often. Should have spent more for an alpine or Rockford unit. ... show more
