Description

Rocksmith is the fastest way to learn guitar and bass. Join over 3 million players who have learned with the award-winning Rocksmith method. Like a personal guitar teacher, Rocksmith listens to you play and adapts to your skill level, slowly introducing more techniques and phrases until you're playing your favorite songs note-for-note. Rocksmith works with (A) any electric guitar or bass with a 1/4" output jack using the included cable, or (B) with any acoustic guitar or bass using a pickup with a 1/4" output jack or using a dedicated USB microphone (both not included). This Remastered version of Rocksmith was released in October 2016. It includes an update to the original Rocksmith 2014 Edition that adds a customizable learning curve, expanded practice tools, stat tracking, improved menus, six additional bonus songs, and more. If you already own the original Rocksmith 2014 Edition, the Remastered update can be downloaded for free and the additional songs can be purchased separately. • excellent training aid
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Remastered + Cable
The bad: Throws double stops and chords at you in 'learn a song' mode before training you on them Built-in tuner is suspect when compared to an external tuner Oversensitive to intonation, under sensitive to rhythm Requires a lot of use of the xbox controller, so you're frequently switching between guitar and controller Complicated symbology that takes a while to get used to Somewhat limited in very easy beginner songs. The easiest song, blitzkrieg bop, has a fairly frenetic pace even though it has simple notes/chords Registers plucked strings the same as hammer-ons, and can't be as critical as a real instructor in general due to platform limitations. The game also has limitations in reading bends Some of the games have annoyingly long unskippable intros Cord should be longer (I used a USB extension on mine) There are some drawbacks to the gamification--like causing you to be more concerned with points than with your sound The good: Includes an arcade mode for gamified skill building drills, which is excellent. Who knew scales could be fun? Includes a lesson mode that teaches you new techniques, and evaluates your performance of them Includes diverse songs to learn Jam session mode to simulate practicing w/ a band, but I haven't really used it yet Comes with the cable, which is all the hardware you need besides your guitar Rhythm, lead, and bass guitar training in one game. Can simulate a 4-string bass with a 6-string guitar Can slow down segments to work through difficult portions of songs Large catalog of available songs (for some $) Enormous capability to customize tones Keep stats on your training (total hours, arcade time, learn a song time, etc) The gamification aspect keeps you motivated to practice and improve, and makes learning fun Next best thing to a real life lesson, but for far cheaper - excellent bang for the buck ... show more

  • Having fun and learning at the same time!
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Remastered + Cable
Although I have only had this for less than a week I can honestly say as a complete novice to playing guitar this has helped me out a lot in a little amount of time. This teaches u so much its worth it price in that alone nevermije the fact that u can rock out to some great songs. Yeah u will spend 2.99 for the songs u really want but it's worth it to learn them. I love how u can adjust the amount of notes u play in each section of the song at your own pace until u get better and can strive to do it 100% I was worried about buying because of so many talking about lag issues and audio problems. There was lag going thru hdmi as the game informs u of within the manual in the case and recommends u to run a optical digital cable from your Xbox to your receiver or in my case 5.1 sound bar system. Did that and it works perfectly. No issues with audio whatsoever. Glad I took the risk as it's paid off and will only pay dividends moving forward as I finally learn how to play guitar. ... show more

  • Well Worth Learning How To Rock!
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Remastered + Cable
I own a lot of guitars that I do not know how to play (that is another story) so I finally found this game on sale during Black Friday and have always wanted to try this to motivate me to play and also finally use some of my many electric guitars sitting around. This game is fun! I had to choose which axe (old school name for a guitar) to use and fortunately I had many choices. Found one that was comfortable and the game helped me tune it and in about 20 minutes I was nailing a simple little chord song! Do not think this is a way to play like a pro in 5 minutes because that is not going to happen, but if you really want to learn to play, this is a fun and pretty in-depth way to do it. You can change your progression if you really want to stay at a certain level till it is ingrained in your muscle memory, which I am doing or move on according to how you do in the tutorial plays. Great graphics and sound as well! Plus, I needed something else to play since Destiny has got so boring. I am at the beginning, but will update as I progress. I paid $29 on sale and I would have bought it at $59 if I knew it was this good and fun. It does come with the needed cord, so you have everything you need if you have an electric guitar. ... show more
