  • Spectacular Engineering in a Mouse, by a Company with Integrity
Color: Black
I love this mouse. I loved it right when I bought it during summer of 2020. The only gripe I ever had with it was the scroll wheel would seem to jump in unexpected ways.. wasn't the end of the world but mildly annoying nonetheless. So I put it up with it for a long time, all the while assuming the issue was some problem in how I configured the drivers on my machine, or a mismatch in settings I had made somewhere. Periodically, I'd try to resolve the issue but never quite got it working properly, and then I'd get busy with work and forget for another month. It wasn't until recently that I was using the mouse on another OS that I realized I was experiencing the same issue in a completely different environment with different drivers. At this point it clicked - "Wow. Maybe this has been a hardware issue all along." I immediately emailed ROCCAT and explained my situation. Knowing I was well outside of the 90 day warranty (EDIT: I thought it was 90 days at the time, it’s actually 2 or 3 years!), I simply asked them if they knew of any DIY fixes I might apply that could resolve the unintended behavior. I received a reply within 12 hours from a representative named Sascha, who was most helpful. Sascha gave me a couple of things to try, like resetting the mouse and doing a fresh firmware installation - which did actually make an improvement, it just didn't fix it entirely. Nonetheless, when I reported back to Sascha that this was the case, the next reply was an RMA number and a message saying expect to have a replacement within 14 days after my shipping notification. In reality, I received my new replacement mouse inside of a week of Sascha's last email. The fact they were so quick to do the right thing (even as I was outside my warranty window) has left an impression on me that I thought was worth writing a review for. I love this mouse on a mechanical level, an ergonomic level, and now I love it knowing the company is brand that has integrity in their customer service, and pride in their products. I will absolutely be buying from ROCCAT again, and I can honestly recommend them to anyone reading this. Thank you Sascha and ROCCAT, I appreciate you! UPDATE: I still love the mouse after another RMA. The first RMA worked flawlessly until December of 2021 when it developed the same issue the first mouse had. I emailed Sascha again in the same thread from nearly a year prior, and again the dude replied immediately. This time I thought there was no way they’d give me an RMA. I was simply asking the rep if they fixed the mechanical issue so that if I buy another one, I won’t have to worry about it. That’s how much I like this mouse - I was going to buy another after it failed with one year of use. Turns out I didn’t have to. Wherever I read the “90 day warranty” when I first was shopping for mice was wrong. It’s actually like a two or three year warranty, and so Sascha wrote me back with another RMA number without me even asking. On mouse #3 everything’s been great so far. I think they might have fixed this issue because this scroll wheel certainly feels better than the other two and Im going on a few months with it. ... show more

  • I just love it. I've used a lot of mice and this one finally fits me.
Color: Black
I guess most people -- especially in America -- have fairly large hands. Let me open with: this is not the mouse for you if you do. A lot of mice from competitors like Razer are almost famously large. This falls into a class of mice that are, thankfully, designed smaller for people like myself who do not have large hands. The biggest difference in design is a bit hard to explain. There's a sort of small hump in the middle of the sides. If you use a claw grip it really makes a huge difference for grip and comfort. It's ever so slightly longer and less wide than some of its predecessors, but seems to have struck a pretty good balance. All in all I found myself going from getting hand pains with my previous mice when using the mouse too much to this one actually all but completely eliminating that. It can work both with the USB cable plugged in and from an internal battery. Unlike most of its wireless predecessors, this one finally uses an internal lithium ion battery, so no more putting AA or AAA batteries in. This is not only more convenient, but it also means it is, overall, lighter than it would be if it used them. The difference is relatively subtle, but nice. Though of course it may be more inconvenient if you don't charge it once in a while. As for battery life, I saw the review saying it was terrible and absolutely cannot agree. It says three days, but I guess that means three days of heavy use because with a more normal use (gaming some hours every day but otherwise mostly using it for web browsing, streams, etc etc) I'm finding the battery level hasn't actually dropped much at all. It probably means literally three days -- as in 72 hours -- of constant use. But no one is continuously moving and clicking for 72 hours, so the real life result is much longer. The wireless functionality is, as expected, excellent. I can't notice even the slightest hint of latency even in high speed FPS games where tiny differences truly stand out. This may come down to it using a custom receiver, which I suppose could be a problem if you lose it, but modern Bluetooth protocols are pretty low latency these days too, so I think it's safe to say that wireless mice for gaming are here now and latency just simply is not a concern anymore. That said, you can still plug it in. If you plug it in it will not use the battery saving features like turning off the LEDs (or whatever else you may have set it to do) if you don't use it for a while. It's worth noting here that if you plug it into an external USB charger rather than your PC this means the lights stay on even after the computer has shut off (which can potentially interfere with sleeping, so something to bear in mind) but it is interesting that it continues to work wirelessly even while plugged in to USB power. ... show more

  • Perfect Mouse for me!
Color: Grey
I have been searching for the perfect mouse for months and I have finally found it. This mouse ticks every box for me except two, weight, and skates. The weight is a little higher than I would want in a modern mouse at 105g (on my scale). I think they could drop the weight if there is a future iteration. However, it really isn't that bad and the weight has not affected my performance in Valorant, CoD, or Destiny 2. The skates are also very subpar. Roccat's own Burst Pro has some of the best stock skates in the business, so why this mouse doesn't have better ones is beyond me. However, I ordered some Corepads and put those on, completely solved that issue. Mouse glides like its on ice now. The fantastic glide also helps to mask the weight. Everything else is perfect. The main clicks are amazing, the side buttons are easy to hit and very responsive, the sensor is great, and the battery life is really good (got through a week of work and play on one charge). Also the shape is perfect for my hand (19 cm x 10.8 cm). It is ergo enough that I can relax while working, but also has enough flexibility that I can shift to a claw grip for gaming. It also has a nice length that allows me to lock the mouse to the rear of my palm to steady my aim, but then I can shift to back out easily for increased mobility. The coating is really nice too. My palms get a little sweaty when I play, but its never a problem. And the mouse seems to grip better when the shell gets some heat. Overall, if you can get past the weight and get some better skates, this mouse is a winner. I highly recommend giving it a shot. ... show more
