Update: this works fine so far. The pics above are NOT from the heater control valve. My gasoline had a blockage in it causing a low gas pressure causing an unbalanced gas/air mixture causing, carbon buildup. ..... Old commercial t: I'm not sure if this is a good product or not. I it cuts off and when I open it I get carbon build up. (See Pics) Anyone Know why I get that Black Carbon Build Up? It cuts the main gas off. ... show more

    • I have hot water!
I've been having hot water issues for a while - I would get hot water or lukewarm water. The tank is old (and special) but not made anymore, so I didn't want to go the expensive route of finding a suitable replacement. After replacing the valve and thermostat I now have consistent hot water. Now I hope I can get several more years out of the tank. ... show more
