My front door faces East, so it gets direct sunlight for the bulk of the day. I didn't know until after I was gifted a Ring doorbell that constant, direct sunlight can be damaging to the lens. The cover fits behind the Ring setup, so hopefully your initial installations was fairly easy because you'll have to undo it to add the cover. Installation was pretty simple, and I installed it while charging my camera. There are no instructions included, which may annoy some, but it's honestly really easy to do. The cover also comes with the screws needed, and several extra just in case you drop one. The only issue I had, and it just took some patience, was that my fingers are a bit thick so I had a little bit of trouble installing the screws that are right up underneath the cover. Just take a few deep breaths, and even walk away for a minute if it's really giving you trouble, and you'll get it screwed into place. ... show more

    • Good Ring cover
This looks like a decently made plastic piece. It fit my Ring fine. This slid right behind my current setup very easy. It does seem a thinner plastic shield but it doesn’t need to be thick I guess and works great. Glad to have this to help with our direct light for early afternoon.
