I needed it because I live in a cold climate and wanted to replant some of my indoor plants without going outside to freeze! I also wanted to avoid trashing my kitchen counter! I unfolded the mat and snapped the corners together and successfully kept my kitchen clean when doing my replanting. The mat is beautifully made and is waterproof on the inside. It feels very durable too. It made this whole job much easier and I love the enclosed space to keep all the mess inside. When I was finished, I unsnapped a corner and poured all excess dirt and debris into the trash can. Couldn’t possibly be any easier and it rolls or folds up to store very simply. It's just the right size to work on potted plants indoors. I just repotted 2 plants on a small table with ease. Each one was a 12" pot that fits perfectly in the center.
