  • Amazing set of features for such a reasonable price
Really love that it has PTZ and auto tracking all in one affordable package. Those features work pretty well, especially for a consumer-level device. I wish it had greater light sensitivity in near-dark conditions like other cameras on the market because the LED lights are too much to be turning on very bright at night in front of my house. Still, it works fairly well to leave it in color mode even when that LED is off because it does have decent light sensitivity, just not great. The motion detection is where I am going to need to spend more time trying to fine tune because as it is it's firing constantly, even when there's nothing that I can see in frame that is moving (other than maybe leaves in the trees moving ever so little?). The secondary stream for the zoom feature is pretty slick. I haven't found it to be super useful yet because it doesn't seem to want to center itself on whatever it's tracking, so I don't really find it showing me the face of the person in the yard for example. I suspect this might be just a setting problem but it doesn't work great out of the box. However, the wider FOV stream is high quality so you can make out faces on that stream just fine. EDIT: I see that I can reduce the sensitivity of the motion detection to reduce the false positives, which is helping (I still need to tweak more). I also found that changing the "tracking method" to "pan/tilt tracking first" does the trick to make it so the secondary zoom camera is focused on the target. It's actually pretty amazing -- just now I watched it figure out that there was someone walking down the sidewalk across the street from me, it automatically moved to center both cameras on that person, zoomed in to see them fairly closely with the secondary camera while keeping the main camera at the full FOV, and automatically continued to move to keep them in frame. I feel like this will be very helpful in case there's something wonky going on in front of my house now. ... show more

  • PTZ Camera's are Improving!
I bought this to replace an older off brand camera that failed due to lightning. This camera is better in every way. Camera is very well built and easy to install/ setup. I love how it links to your Alexa so it can be viewed quickly inside on Alexa devices! As far as features, the auto track and up close shots work great! I expected subpar quality as my old camera was too slow to actually auto track....but this was a big surprise. The motion detection still picks up bugs at night so the nightlight feature doesn't work (unless you want it constantly on and off). I'm still working on the settings though. I liked it so much we bought one and installed for our family as well. ... show more

  • For the price, this seems excelent
Got this late in the day yesterday, elected to do a semi temporary mount right outside my window so I could try it out. I've had it about 24 hours now. Spent a lot of time playing with the PC app. Not so much with the iPhone. I will be taking it down and putting it back up because it has a smallish SD card in it now. All I had available. Sometimes, the weak link is the software but I'm finding this pretty robust as I explore and get used to it. The manual didn't seem all that helpful but I was looking for something it probably didn't have. Finding certain settings was odd, there are at least 2 ways to get to them. As for resolution, not bad. It has two lenses, one panoramic, one higher rez but smaller field of view. You can display each separately or together. If you have more than one camera, you can display all of them in a grid. Playback is pretty good once you get the hang of it and have your timestamp configured properly. I woke up and found it had caught the skunk rooting for bugs in the back yard. Learned how to download just that segment to the hard drive. I set up an empty 1TB SSD I had to be for the camera in stead of my C:users/ directory. I haven't tried it yet, but when the SD card fills up and it starts overwriting I'll watch it's behavior for a day or two then switch to local save to the SSD. So far it looks like the 64GB micro SD will hold a bit over a days worth of recording. It just went through it's first thunder storm. The wind was causing a LOT of stuff to move and I had it auto track motion so it was whipping around to follow the blowing branches etc. First really useful thing. I noticed the wind had torn the tarp off my neighbor's SUV, I went over to tell her. It is needed to cover the back window the punks blew out with a BB gun. Which is why I elected to get this thing now. ... show more
