  • Perfect replacement for the much larger remote that came with the unit.
Got this for my mom and she absolutely loves it. It is much more convenient than carrying the original clunky remote around. Programming was also easy using the instructions provided.

  • Different program instructions
To program this remote you have to also put the remote in program mode buy pushing a lil button with the included pin or use a paper clip And then push button on remote a certain number of times depending on the color of learn button on the opener And then go thru normal program cycle Took me a min to figure this out ... show more

  • It's Ehh-Okay
This garage opener is nice, but you have to hold the button down for quite some time and half of the time, it does not always work.

  • Programming instructions are off
FIRST, before you do anything check the color of the learn button on your garage door opener. I was positive mine was red/orange, but a check with a flashlight showed it was PURPLE. Second, the instructions for the Chamberlain opener that looks exactly the same as this unit WILL NOT WORK. To program the opener: 1) Use the enclosed metal pin to hold the program button in until the light on your opener stops flashing. 2a) If you have a purple learn button, press the opener button twice. 2b) If you have a red/orange learn button, press the opener button three times. 2c) This selects the frequency the remote will use! 3) Hold the metal pin on the program button until the lights on the opener stop flashing. 4) Press the learn button on your garage door opener. Hold down the button on the remote you just programmed while holding it right next to the garage door opener. Your garage door opener will click. 5) That's it, your garage door opener should work each time you press the button you programmed. ... show more

Programming sucks!!!!!

  • Came with battery that only lasted 10 uses
Seems to function like the OEM version it is a knock-off of and is much cheaper. Mine, however came with a mostly discharged battery that only lasted a couple months and maybe 10 uses. So factoring in the extra $7 for the replacement battery it seems like less of a deal. We’ll see how long it lasts.

  • Extremely Reliable
My new car unbelievably did have builtin garage door opener. I velcroed one of these to the dash and solved the aoto maker's omission. Wish other car issues could be solved as easily.

  • It programmed the first time
I read a lot of these reviews, mine works fine and it’s cheap, so no complaints. I followed instructions and it was easy to me. First you set up the button you want to use w the correct learn button code, then u go to garage and push the learn button and then the button u programmed. Two light bulb clicks and voila! It opened ... show more

  • Seems to work
When you program it don't give up. Read those directions and follow them exactly. It may take a fresh times but it should work. Mine worked when I was about to give up. I have a very old lifmaster with an orange button

  • Works as a cheaper alternative but has its draw backs.
Better be within about 40 ft of your opener to use. And hold that button down firmly. It does the job but on my oem chamberlain branded remote, I push the button quickly about 150ft up the road and the door opens. With this I need to be IN my driveway and I need to push and hold the button like I mean it. Kind of a pain to program. Had to do it 4 or 5 times. But it does the job and it wasn't $37 like the chamberlain version that looks just like it. ... show more

  • Good remote, but...
It works, but there are a couple of points to consider. First, the range is nowhere near as good as an original Lift Master remote. Sometimes there’s a bit of “hesitation” between the time the remote button is pressed and the door opens. I’d have to hold the button for a second or two before the door opens. This is intermittent and somewhat range dependent, but it’s something that the original Lift Master remote doesn’t exhibit at all. Overall, I think it’s acceptable for a backup remote that is 1/2 to 1/3 of the price of the original equipment. I’d give it 4 stars, and I’d buy again. ... show more

  • Much cheaper than brand version
Bought in December 2020, and still going strong. Accidentally washed and had to replace battery, and it still works. The original programming was easy and took just a few minutes. • Set up instructions not completely accurate
This is not mentioned in the little instruction paper, but you are supposed to hold the program button until the LED light goes off, not just click once. Then you can click on the button you want to program for the number of times you need specific to your garage.

  • The only bad thing is the 3 plastic ring connectors that might actually break.
I dislike that the connection from keyring to the remote itself is made with thin plastic that will break.

Hard to program. I have programmed many remotes to this system and this is by far the most difficult. Programming would not allow me to use the main button on the remote. The button to which it is programmed works intermittently, often taking multiple tries to work. I had another remoted that looked just like this one and it worked as expected. 2 months later, the device has completely stopped working, the company does not accept refunds after 30 days ... show more
