Description

Neo-Paris. 2084.Personal memories can now be digitized, bought, sold and traded. The last remnants of privacy and intimacy have been swept away in what appears to be a logical progression of the explosive growth of social networks at the beginning of the 21st century. The citizens themselves have accepted this surveillance society in exchange for the comfort only smart technology can provide. This memory economy gives immense power over society to just a handful of people.Remember Me is a 3rd person action adventure where players take on the role of Nilin, a former elite memory hunter with the ability to break into people's minds and steal or even alter their memories. The authorities, fearful of her knowledge and capabilities have arrested Nilin and wiped her memory clean. After her escape from prison, Nilin sets out on a mission to recover her identity, helped by her last and only friend. This search for her past leads to her being hunted by the very people that created this surveillance society. Speculative, stunning vision of our future - Discover Neo-Paris 2084, where augmented reality and memory digitization have taken control of people's lives. Play as Nilin, an elite memory hunter with a clouded past - Become the most wanted memory hunter in Neo-Paris and experience the power to break into people's minds to steal their memories. Memory Remix - This innovative new gameplay mechanic allows players to use Nilin's powers and alter parts of people's memories in real-time gameplay. • Outstanding Campaign Game!
Platform: Xbox 360
I made the title to make it clear that this is a very solid campaign game. I generally play multiplayer games i.e. Battlefield 3, but we all know that those types of games are made mainly for the multiplayer, leaving the campaign pretty poor. Remember Me went for an all-out campaign game and it shows. This is a very detailed game and the team that put this together did an astonishing job. The music, sound effects, the neo look are all great, but the story in this game is outstanding. The story behind Nilin will suck you in and you will look forward to when you can continue the journey in getting your memory back each time you have to quit the game. As others have said you set up your combo moves which at first your hands will hurt just getting the combos pulled off. Once you get used to it - it will be a little more fluid as the game notifies you when you have to hit either "Y" or "X" depending on whether your set up is for damage, self-healing, or cool down. Some enemies are tougher than others and at the end of Episode 2 I actually had to change the difficulty to the lowest setting to defeat the boss. That's another plus, being able to change the difficulty in order to prevent you from getting frustrated. Again, the story is so good that you will want to beat the heck out of foes in order to find out what's next. If you are looking for a multiplayer game then pass on this one. If you are looking for a very solid campaign game that just sucks you in then do yourself a favor and pick this game up. Although, this game may be overlooked as I would have missed it if it wasn't for a recommendation from Amazon. I'm really glad this game found me and I think you will too. ... show more

  • An interesting vision
Platform: Xbox 360
It has been a while since I've played but from what I recall, the design left an impression on me as did the hand crafted world and lore created for this game universe. I did enjoy the story, characters and kind of wish it had been longer! Combat can be a bit tedious, but that is always a challenge and obstacle with any video game. I would have loved if neo Paris had been delved into and expanded upon more, seeing the interactions and dynamics between robots and humans was neat. For years I have been wanting titles to be more sandbox like with more actions to perform and areas to explore. But of course, your reception will not be the same as mine. None the less I hope your entertained, hopes are met (or better, exceeded) and find the novelty (or rather different beat) to this game that I did. ... show more

  • Remember The Annoyances
Platform: Xbox 360
Remember Me has a great idea for a game. Unfortunately, it doesn't really capitalize on it. The premise is interesting and the story could've been so much more. It felt like a game that was being developed by a team of very talented people, but with a deadline that stunted the quality of their work. For starters, the game is very pretty. The backdrop of a futuristic France was really something to behold - from the slums to the nicer parts of the city, everything had a great look to it. The problem is, I wanted to explore the great looking city and I really couldn't. The path you must follow is very linear. Even the platforming portions of the game were linear in that arrows pointed out where you needed to jump to. This is a very "a to b" type of game. Although the game looked great, the sounds are a different story. Now, the voice acting was ok. And, at first, the ambient sound seemed just fine. Until I played on for a while. The sounds from different areas tend to repeat themselves over and over again. In some cases, those sounds were very annoying, too. Listening to some crazy person spout off his craziness over and over and over again until I reached a certain area was bothersome. Not a gamekiller, just a little annoying. What really kept this game from being better than only 3 stars is the combat. The combo system doesn't work all that well. Long strings of combos can be very difficult to pull off when you are being attacked by 10 different types of enemies from all sides. Not to mention the fact that some enemies are "protected" by others, meaning there is an order in which you must defeat them. The whole thing is just more of a bother than it is fun. There are a few memory sequences that are very well done and fun to execute, but they are very far and few between and have little impact on the game as a whole. Bottom line is this - it's not a terrible game. You might have a little fun bouncing around futuristic France if you have a great deal o patience to deal with the various irritants throughout the game. For me, this is an average game at best. Don't pay more than $30.00 for it. Overall: 3/5 ... show more
