  • Xbox 360 & MW3 all the Killinz you could want...
I haven't had a console since PS1...yeah it's been that long. My friends all have Xbox 360's and tons of other consoles and claim praise for them all. I wasn't sure which console to get for the most part. I read some reviews and liked what the Xbox offered, so I decided to give it a try. I am a PC gamer, so I love good graphics, and the Xbox is right up there. The ease of using it is amazing, and there is a tutorial for everything if you really need it. Controller is a bit daunting if you haven't played console games for a while, but just like anything else, you learn all the buttons pretty quickly when you are playing it. It becomes second nature in a fast paced game like MW3 (more below) Now on to the game. I have heard of the Call of Duty games, watches some people play Black Ops, but never have played myself. Lets just say throwing the rabbit to the wolves. I was awful. I am still not that good. But man is it fun to play! May I suggest trying the story line first, and the missions so you can learn the controller a little before you go try the Xbox live player vs player. (if you haven't played before) You will die so many times it's not funny. Some players have been doing this in all of the COD games, and are masters at it. That's not the case for me, and I am sure it shows to the other players. But that's ok, I am slowly getting better! Game play is smooth, the graphics are great, and the custom classes (prefer pistols? you can fight with those!, Rocket launchers? no problem!) make it so you can tailor it to your style of play. There are plenty of maps so the scenery doesn't get old, and the situation changes so much from game to game its amazing! (I did really well on one campaign, and the next I must have been tossed in with a bunch of seasoned vets, because I got WORKED) A lot of shooters that are one dimensional, this is more like a shooter's RPG. You earn experience as you go, for yourself and your weapons, which in turn makes you more proficient at using them (aka more damage with them, more items you can put on them like silencers, scopes etc) and then as you go, you unlock more weapons to use! There are also call signs you can use, different camo for your gun, the possibilities are amazing. I don't want to ramble all day and make this a 10 page review...but if you are on the fence about this Xbox, jump down, grab the credit card, and get this already! It's a ton of fun, you get the biggest HD (at the time) offered by Xbox, and the custom paint and sounds on the Xbox (it makes MW3 sounds when you turn it on and open the disc tray) are pretty cool too! You also get 2 wireless controllers, and a headset to get you right in the action! Not to mention all the other things you can do with your Xbox (Netflicks, Facebook, Movies, Music.....) (Just a note about my ratings, I took away 1 star on fun, because if you are new to the COD games, it can be frustrating getting killed over and over until you start to get the hang of it. Luckily I took breaks, and realized it was just a game. Once you get the hang of it though, it is a 5/5 stars in the fun department) ... show more

  • Just good enough
This system looks nice enough, the sounds are decent. The price is good if you got the $50.00 credit, it is the best deal right now. I like the new D-Pads on the controllers, but have heard they break easily. The optical audio out is a great addition. This is the upside. On the other hand Microsoft did the bare minimum as far as a step up from the original Xbox 360. This is my 1st 360 slim. Whisper quiet, HA! no way, it's maybe just slightly quieter Than my old white Xbox with the Jasper board, but honestly the difference is so slight that I really can't tell if there is one. It is still far louder than my fat PS3 which also has always had a internal wireless adapter and optical audio port. The Xbox is now on par with the original PS3 in these respects. Of course Xbox live is far better than PSN in my opinion, which is why I put up with all the original Xbox shortcomings for so long. I can't tell any difference in boot up speed between this Xbox and the White Jasper board Xbox. The internal wireless adapter is weaker than the wireless-N adapter (the black one with two spreadable antennas) one on my old Xbox, so I'm using that adapter with this new slim system to boost the signal. All in all my real gripes are with the new Xbox 360 Slim not being up to snuff with Microsoft's claims and my expectations in general, not with this bundle. The Xbox Slim is incredibly mediocre, but you get enough in this MW3 bundle to make it worth the money, despite the false claims and flaws, it is still worth the price. ... show more

  • Sleak and Sexy
My first Xbox was pretty old and crappy. I did not even realize how much until I bought my first nice TV and realized my Xbox did not have an HDMI port. I was about ready to bite the bullet and just go buy a new Xbox Elite. Then I started hearing rumors of a "Super Elite" Xbox coming out. So I waited a little while and was rewarded with the MW2 Edition Xbox Bundle being announced. 250gb hard drive, HDMI input, I was sold. So I bought it, transferred my hard drive data, and sold the old box and ended up not paying that much out of pocket for the new Xbox. That was a couple years ago and I have never had an issue with my Xbox. The only issue was that I was not willing to run Ethernet all over my house, so the Wi-Fi adapter was added. But I found I was getting a dropped signal a bit too often. So while that was not a dire issue, it was not ideal. Then came the "new" re-designed Xbox. Smaller, sleeker, and built-in Wi-Fi. Nice, but not really worth dropping another $300. But good things do come to those who wait. While I am a fan of the MW series, I am by no means obsessed. But it does seems that they do come out with Xbox bundles that are worth it to me at the right time. Here is a new Xbox. Built-in Wi-Fi. Cool sounds when turned on and off. Ok, those really don't matter. But what does matter is they pushed the hard drive up again. Now 320gb. Now, I own maybe 15 games, plus have a bunch of demos on my hard drive. And even then I only use about 40gb. The draw of this new box was twofold. The built-in Wi-Fi, but also the ne hard drive for this reason. With Comcast/HBO/other TV channels soon to be coming to Xbox Live, I find that a 320gb DVR sounds like a pretty good deal! Plus, using the same formula as before, I am selling the old setup and when all is said and done, will be paying maybe $40 out of pocket. And in another couple years I will probably do the same, although from what the web claims, it will be for the next version of Xbox, 720 maybe? ... show more

  • Just wow
One of the controllers won't turn on. Both controllers are beat up pretty good. Won't connect to the internet. The power cord is miss matched. There should be a 3 prong male connection but it's just a 2 prong available. Sent a message to the seller, but no response. Will be sending it back.
