I had to replace another brand that burst open. I bought a 50’ and a 15’ of this brand and put them in PVC pipe for protection since the water line is laying on top of the ground. The 15’ has been in service a couple of months with no problems. I just put in the 50’ a 3 weeks ago and no problems. The water is actually warm when you turn the cold on but turns cold after the water has run for a minute. Our temps have been in the teens and below zero, the water line runs free. I would think this heated hose would run free in cold weather even outside of a protective PVC pipe. I highly recommend this hose over any of the others I have tried. They failed quickly while this one really lives up to its claims. Great product. ... show more

I have bought several of these now over the several camco ones I’ve used. I feel this is the best heated hose available in my experience. My only question is what is this guarantee exactly. I had one fail. Just one but when I called Amazon they said it’s just a 30 day warranty ? I was a little disappointed. I do still stand by the usability and overall quality of the hose. Camco hoses have become a bad deal for heated hoses anyway. ... show more

    • DO NOT BUY! Fraudulent listing.

The listing CLEARLY states the hose is self regulating and does not heat when the temperature is 47*f or higher. Furthermore the listing plainly states it heat production is regulated by the out door temperatures, so that the hose produces more heat the colder things get outside. This is not true, and the customer service rep plainly stated this is not true. (see comments below) I set up the hose and plugged it in while the daytime temp was 73*f and the night time temps are dropping into the 30's*. According to the listing, The hose should heat at night when it is needed, and turn off during the day when it is no longer needed. This is not the case. I was burned by the water because it was so hot while the temps were above 70*f outside. I contacted the seller for assistance and was told the hose does not heat the water inside the hose. If it does not heat the water inside the hose how does it prevent freezing? LOL. Below is the response from the seller: Our water pipes heat up when they are energized. The hose is aimed at freezing water pipes in winter to prevent water pipes from freezing. There is no function of heating the water inside of the pipe. Therefore, we recommend that you can use it below 32℉. I am not going to wait until 2 am to go outside and plug the hose in only when the temps are below 32*. They did give me a refund, and did not require me to return the hose. UPDATE - Because of my full schedule, I did not get around to removing the hose until today. I have noticed the hose produces a gas of some sort when water sits in it over a time... as in 30 minutes or so. You have to let the water run until all the water that was in the hose has been purged before the foaming goes away and you get good water. Since I have a different hose, I decided to disassemble this hose to see what could cause the foaming, since the listing said it was a silicone inner hose, it should be inert. It turns out this hose is nothing like the description. It is a regular garden hose with heat tape on the outside. There is absolutely NO temperature regulating electronics present, and no silicone interior. It is very durable however, and the heat tape is very effective. I truly wish they had not lied about it, and had actually produced what they said they did. ... show more

We were camping when we found ourselves with extreme cold weather and record snow looming. We ordered this hose to be here before our pipes would freeze. It got here and my husband installed it the evening it was delivered.. The hose connection at the camper was leaking and the seals provided with the hose were too large. We shut the water off and the next morning bought the proper sized seals and a 90 degree connector. That was the ticket! No more leaking and the hose kept the water flowing just as Winter Storm Blair was bearing down on us. This is a great hose. Just be prepared that you may need different seals than is provided with the hose. ... show more

I live in my RV year round in New England and naturally my hose kept freezing. I bought insulation tape but after one roll I realized it would be cheaper to just buy a heated hose. My only bit of advice is if you’re not sure which length to buy, buy the longer one. I originally went with 50 ft bc that’s how far my RV was from the spicket, but bc of the spirals and inability to stretch, it didn’t reach. Since hooking up the 75ft one I’ve had no issues and it has been below freezing. I’m definitely one happy camper ;) ... show more
