  • Works as advertised
I needed to replace my range finder that I have had for a lot of years. It was getting to the point that it wouldn’t find the flag. After reading ratings of the best range finders of 2024 I chose this one. It has performed great and finds the pin with easy. The slope feature is a big plus and although I am not as accurate as the range finder it helps to chose the right club. Good size and seems to be well built. I like the way it brightens the view which makes it easy to spot the flag. ... show more

  • Operation Of Range Finder Is Easy, But Accuracy Is Questionable
UPDATE: After the review was published, the seller contacted me and wanted to provide me with me another unit since the 1st range finder was inaccurate in calculating distances. The unit is the same model. After testing the new unit, it was found to be much more accurate in calculating distances. The unit was tested against other brands of range finders that are accurate, and found to be as accurate. I liked the 2nd unit, the ease with which it is operated, and the accuracy of the range finder. The seller was more than willing to make good on what was ordered. Based upon what I received the 2nd time, I would order this brand again. _______________________________________________________________________________________ The Redtiger range finder was order for use when playing and practicing golf. This is a range finder that is easy to use and can be recharged. However, I found the range finder to be inaccurate to as much as 7 yards at ranges of 200 yards. The range finder was received and put on a charger to come to a full charge. It was already partially charged, and took about 45 minutes to come to a full charge. When tested targets were viewed through the scope, they were seen easily. The viewfinder was blurred intentionally, and then brought back to sharpness with a quick slight turn of the knob on the view finder. Also, I liked that based up the brightness of the light, the target reticle was either black or red. When the button was pressed to determine the distance, the distance came up quickly in either yards or meters based upon the selection. Finally, I liked the 7X magnification as opposed to those that are 5X and 6X. I liked the way the Slope function was accessed. A button on the side was pressed, and this action turned that area red to reflect the Slope function was on. It stayed on while the function was on. With all of the above stated, the accuracy was suspect on shots for up to at least 175 yards. First, I did not measure any distances greater than 200 yards since I did not have any of those distances other than tee shots on par 4 or par 5. When first received, the scope was tested on an established distance and accuracy at 80 yards. In addition, the scope was tested against other range finders previously tested accuracy. When tested several times at 80 yards, the range finder was off each time from anywhere from 5 - 7 yards short. When on the golf course, it was tested on distances from about 50 yards up to about 175 yards. It was also tested against other scopes to compare distances. In each case, this range finder was anywhere from 3 - 7 yards short in variance. Thus, if the distance was 80 yards, my club selection would not have been enough based upon the distance reflected on the range finder. BOTTOM LINE: I really like the ease of use and the functions that are available with the range finder. However, for the experienced golfer, this range finder was too inaccurate for me to use regularly except perhaps in practice. For someone who is new to the game, it may be OK to start determining yardages with a range finder from a generic standpoint. The price is also high in comparison to others that have better quality. ... show more

  • Range Worked for Me. Also Can Measure Speed of Larger Objects - Not Accurate.
Requested this item which arrived with a variety of accessories as outlined in the vendor's listing. I like how the unit is put together and the case is really nice. You might wonder what that flat thing with a clip is in the vendor's picture of all the contents. It is essentially a belt clip that the unit can magnetically attach itself to. This unit has a built in battery that will need to be charged using any standard USB power source. I'll have to keep this in mind when I don't play often - such as in the winter. Overall I found the operation simple and in terms of range it's accurate enough for me. Although I'm solidly an amateur golfer. Range estimated by the unit more or less coincided with the published figures at the course I played. The display is also very easy to read. One thing that may not be intuitive is the unit has a focusing ring around the back aperture which can be turned one way or another to put your target in focus. After that it's pretty much just pressing buttons. The ability to turn on/off the slope feature is nice. I prefer to know straight range since none of my courses have any significant elevation changes. One interesting feature is the ability to measure speed. I tried it out on some cars on my street which has a 30 MPH limit and consistently had results way off. The unit returned 50-60 MPH and there was no way cars were going that fast. Part of this could be due to having to press the measurement button (which is the power button) and my hand was wiggling around. Could I see this taking a measurement on something like a golf ball? I don't see it but maybe someone else would have better luck than me. I was on the cusp of deducting a star for this but in the end my issues may have been due more to me than the unit. Overall I'm happy with this unit, however my needs are basic. It's well put together, easy to operate and comes with a bunch of nifty accessories. ... show more
